Gang Wars MMORPG

Hello there, i am new to the website but i just wanted to inform some pople that i am makeing a MMORPG. This game is going to be about modern day to futuristic gang wars. Guns, Blood and Gore, and drugs are a must. I am just looking to see if any one would like to give me some imput. Im looking for what you people want in a game, expecially teens. If you are a teen give me your imput.

If anyone wants to help just send me a message or whatever.

    I am sorry, I was just trying to write fast.

    Ok well here is some other info about the game i am making. It is going to be 3rd Person over the shoulder, and you can switch to first person if you want while you are shooting. Right now we are thinking about putting in about 100 different weapons. It will be halo style fighting, hardcore at all times. It will also have the blood of Gears of War and Grand Theft Auto. Right now there is going to be 3 different classes to play from : Thug, Hitman, and your basic balanced charater. We are going to have 4 or 5 different skills besides just shooting and fighting. It will be a hard game to complete, because i always hear people saying that their mmorpgs are too easy to beat. So this one is going to be tough.

    More imput would be great

    there shud be groups called gangs like guilds, also a variety of ways to kill ppl and lots of weapons :D

    I was thinking 3 main gangs, and whatever gang you join determins what story line you follow. Also there will be subgangs that you can start by yourself. These subgangs can battle for control over cities. There will be two continents to play on with 10- 20 citys to play on when i get around to releasing the game in a couple of years.

    Haha nice, i like the crack house idea, but some people might now. I play guild wars, and on ocation Anarchy Online and Knight Online.

    You know I really need to give guild wars a good run some time. I have all three campaigns and I liked the few hours I put into the first one. I just got distracted with other games and never really played it.



    So what is your background? Computer programming? Art/design?

    I could see some issues from having real life gangs in the game. Jack Thompson would have a field day for one.



    Were you thinking along the line of having realistic gangs or stylized ones like in the Warriors?

    I am a computer programmer who is pretty good at game art and design.

    Along the lines of Gangs........ Ive only put a little bit of thought into this so far, and i was thinking about making up gangs. First of all, so people dont flip a shit in real life if they see their gang is in a video game, but one of the gangs that will be featured in the game is real. I used to be in a local gang when i was a little kid, so i figured i have the rights to put it in the game.

    More imput comeon people

    Whats do you guys think about having "cool" or "fun" ways of killing a person witha  switchblade, like cutting off limbs or cutting a major artery.

    Have you checked out Gamedev.net. There is a hazing for anyone who comes in with a "I want to make an MMO" post but they are great about answering any specific programming or design question. Some real smart people over there.

    No i havent yet, I first asked all my friends what they wanted to be put in the game, then i figured id ask mmorpg.com, then ill go to a place like that. I dont really need that much help with development and stuff i just need imput.

    Sounds like a good idea, i hope your project goes well.

      Just a few suggestions/comments - Perhaps you have seen RANonline? similar sounding game but sadly no drugs hehe. It is schoolyard versus schoolyard, i played for a while but found it too grindy but there are some good ideas implemented in their game. Have a look it may give you some inspiration or new ideas.

    Drugs have copped flak in games since Syndicate. I like the idea alot as they are a real part of life, but how you represent and use them could open you up to a world of trouble.....but also publicity.

    Ya ill check that game out man.

    Drugs, how do I say this, drugs are a major part of gangs and our society, and if i left them out it would be like leaving out a piece of society. The game can not live up to its full potential without drugs, but sadly drugs piss too many people off. I really want to put them in so if everyone would leave feedback on wethor or not drugs should be in or out that would help.

    Not that i know of, i will have to look into that though. And by the way all the people that have helped me so far can get something special in the game, like lots of drugs or a special weapon.

    They are making a gang based MMO it will be hopefully one of the first (if not the first) MMO action/adventure game.

    It is being made by Webzen, it's called All Points Bulletin. I myself have hated just about any game that wasn't an mmo. The only game I have ever bought that was not an MMO was the Grand Theft Auto games. The gameplay system, although completely unrealistic, was one of the best systems I have ever seen. The storys in all 3 games were almost too good to be something in a video game. The first GTA storyline was so great that I thought it should have been made into a move instead.

    Anyway here is the link http://www.webzengames.com/Game/APB/default.asp . I hope this game is similar is the GTA games in mmo format because they were the only offline games to capture my attention ever. And that's saying alot as I hate just about every offline game out there with a passion.

    Well all the ideas for Gang Wars have come from my friends, myself, or the people from mmorpg.com. I have never even heard of that game before.
