WARNING: dont play Meta-physicist as main char!

Title sais it all.

Dont make the same mistake i and many others made. Because even if they are fun to play and really good in the beginning their performance later in the game when you reach tl7 (lvl 205+) is worse than any other class in the game at both pvm and pvp (since LE has come out i think they are even worse than traders now).

dont get me wrong the game is still the greatest mmorpg out there imo but choose another class or if you make an MP have it as a lowl-mid level pvp twink and have another class as your mainchracter.

i myself have a 215/17 MP so i know what i am talking about.

I think the fact even Sil said none of the devs play MPs has something to do with their extreme lack of love.
  • sil also said that the mp is fine at pvm and only has some problems at pvp. thats like telling the highlvl mp community that fc has no idea how broken the mp is and we can only expect minor changes and considering their attempts in the past (the 2hb staff anyone?) its not going to help us in any way.

    a nanomage MP, yes

    An Atrox/Solitus MP, not really

At max or near max levels, Atrox characters catch up to and overtake their squishy counterparts in terms of available nanoprograms. The additional HP, strength, and stamina allow for the MP to be a significant force of his own, greater than the best of the combat pets.

The fact that it's too hard after level 205 Doesn't mean that it's a bad choice it means that its a good choice for people that like a challenge. :P

Its not really a matter of being hard, its a matter of quite simply running out of "resources"

An MP's strength is and will always be his pets, being better as an MP means you get a higher level pet array, that simple

Close to max level, there are no higher level pets, thats it, you're shit out of luck in terms of advancement.

MP'S at least have the coolest looking pets. I couldn't see any froobs making it very far as an MP though. Toughest profession to play? No. Worth the time after level 200? No.

Having played Anarchy since the release for about two years, and then, after quitting, a few months here and there after each expansion's release, I feel it is necessary to clarify something about MPs.

Yes - I agree that MP is not the ultimate PvP choice.  However:

    1.  MP is one of the best PvM choices up to about level 150.

    2.  MP will be your money-maker - period.

    3.  MP's unique nano buffs are in a huge demand, and you will have many friends just based on that fact alone (especially engineers).

    4.  If you are a loner - this is the ultimate choice for you.  You have a healing pet, a mezzing pet, and an attack pet - and an ultimate line of nanos that enable you to use much higher level pets than engineers without begging for buffs everytime you need to create a pet.

    5.  Have your MP finance your new characters, whichever might become your "main" in the future.  Quick missions with MP provide great loot and quick cash.

I no longer play AO - the graphics seem very out-dated to me after trying the newer MMOs, and I can't stand the Shadowlands environment.  However, the old days of Rubi-Ka will never leave my memory...  Too bad, the cyberpunk fantasy of Shadowlands completely ruined AO - for me, anyway.

The very fact that this MMO has 200+ levels, is exactly why I left the game after first expansion. :(

But hey, I'm not really a sci-fi buff; unless it was a Blade Runner MMO.

200+ levels dont mean anything, 1-200, every five levels would be comparable to a single level in other MMOs. 201-220 you get 5 levels worth of stats for every level. Dont let the big number scare you.

well its common to have a class start strong and end up as weak as a newb at high lvls.  Every game has there class that is just like this situation
