Freedom of speech is thing going around these days if you didn't notice.
Actually freedom of speech doesn't exsist on a privately owned message board. If the admins don't like what you say they can ban you for it . Not saying they would do that though. Only if you break a rule.
As for the OP I don't know what they were expecting from one of the founding MMOs. it's six years old now the graphics are going to look dated. AO had it's flaws, but I'd love to see an MMO that didn't. considering the game is free now I really don't see why your complaining.. or why on earth you thought after "200" levels you thought the game would only then get fun.
What i expect is funcom to treat their PAYING customers with RESPECT with emphasis on PAYING and RESPECT. I've played ao a long time and paid them a nice sum of money over that time just so they could look down on their customers and treat them unfairly and ruin the game i love.
This game rocks... nuff said. Have to have a brain to play it... Also, I don't mean to be a disbeliever, but playing the game since beta I find it VERY hard to believe getting 220 ina "few days" is remotely possible ... unless like mentioned before you play damn near close to 24/7. I played 50+ hours a week and made 200 in a very long time (rp'ed to much maybe?). If you can get 220 in a "few days" really, let me know and prove it to me . I would like a 220 keeper and shade.
The best guild with full teams pumping up a toon might be able to do it in a week if they all did the 24/7 type of grind. Maybe. Or if a gold farmer team pulled shifts to level a toon then maybe but not your average player.
AO is complex and even more so for froobs since they are limited in gear. The few haters of AO have to be froobs complaining about the free game which makes me laugh.
AO is still a greeat game and Funcom is still one of the most respected MMO companies around. AO is not going away any time soon.
Leveling to 220 in a few days is quite possible with the right amount of know how, org support and having all the expansions. They are called heck noobs, plus they never said your 220 character would be any good. Having a level 220/ AI lvl 30 character in a few days is technically impossible though, unless they are one of the exploiters. Even though creating a 220 character is easier, getting to AI level 30 takes many months, possibly a year to achieve. This is before Lost Eden though, I'm sure getting to AI level 30 may be easier to do now.
this game is damn right awful (like my english) the adverts for this game make it seem pimped but if u notice all the adds are of real ppl dressed like chraters VERYVERY smart of this game as the GFX SUCK! i mean iv played loads of mmorpg i got to lvl 300 on this game just cos i was so sure if i got 300 this game would prov to be as good as it says it is no way get 300 wowowow wot will i do now outher then buy all there expansion packs they got for sale cos ofc with shadowlands this game must own but no it suxs just liek the maker of this game damn it man who ever maped this game is just just just i cant even say it cos lil kids will be reading this. im hellish sry to yall who love this game but its how i feel about it any how over and out.
i am not sure on the lvl 300 thing but i think this game is a absolute peice of crap i hate when they make adverts and the websites look flashy but when you get into the game it is crap i hate when that happens
omg u guys r such a bunch of pricks dident it accer to u for one second that i made a misstake by putting 300 down in stead of 200 -.-
Once again you got it wrong,it's 220.If you are gonna bash a game without no knowlegde of it,atleast do some research on it,it make you sound a little less dumb
And it would have been a typo if you said 300 one time, not three times, nice try though
220 + 20/30? Alien Level. Did Lost Eden bring new Levels? Im not sure :S.

When you look at the personal research lines, and how much exp they eat up, then yes LE did add a bunch of new levels. Not sure that they can be summed up with just a number like "50", but they are certainly there, and the same for everyone in terms of work.

No, not really any new levels. The research lines just amounts to more grind. 200RK, 20SL, 30AI, still.

I must say,, How old are you?
Let me ask you a question, which game is best? The one with the best GFX ever, But has the worlds worst gameplay or the game with Older GFX but hundred times better gameplay. Well you decide..
Grow up please, This game might not have the best GFX but it has it´s charming sides to,, don´t turn down a game because of the graphics and dont like a game about the graphics.!
Imho this game has the best community. You type help and someone actually spends hours for your puny gun. Yet funcom is ripping those good people. People that stay, stay because they have friends there, not because new content is added. Update the graphics, do something about the combat (you can actually read magz through it) and you make all the froobs noobs in days.
This game was quite good when it first came out , well i enjoyed it anyway , but yes it is quite dated now , and btw op graphics ain't everything you know. , never play EQ1?
AO was one of THE founding MMO's period. It's an awesome game considering they ACTUALLY coded it themself. Not to bash AO but Ultima Online, Everquest, Lineage, Asheron's Call where out years before AO and had a much larger following. Check out http://www.mmogchart.com/ for some nice statistics.
And of course, the data at mmogchart.com doesn't even list the original MMOs, which were and still are referred to as MUDs. Gemstone III/IV, Dragonrealms, Modus Operandi, etc.. were all the actual original MMOs that started the craze way back in the early 90's. They preceeded games like UO and AC, and are still alive today.
It's funny how many people think UO was the original MMO, and never refer to MUDs when referring to MMOs in general. They show their ignorance and inexperience in the market by doing so.
I really wanted to like this game as I am positively desperate for a kick-ass Sci-Fi MMO (other than EVE Online) to play. I have never played one and AO seemed to fit the bill. And it would if it had, a better engine, more intuitive controls and yes, better graphics. The game is awesome in scope. I can see how several of todays MMO's have "borrowed" from AO. I may play again as a Froob, we will see. Waiting on Tabula Rasa at this point
I just wanna know how much you expect graphically from a game that was released six years ago? Come on now. The depth and character customization is the main strengths of this game.
I tried this game for about a day. The PCs were very helpful, but I am usually not drawn to heavy PvP games. The biggest negative that I found with this game was that missions are player driven. There is no PvE element to the game at all. As a result, you are totally dependant on players for your gaming experience.

You're showing your ignorance, and relucatance to try to find out more about the game with this statement. The game is in fact, MORE PvE than PvP. There are dozens of quests, both dynamically generated for the player by mission terminals, and static ones part of the storyline. There is far more content that you can do alone than with a group, although grouping for PvE really becomes necessary to advance at a steady rate when you reach your 170's.
A day hardly begins to even scratch the surface of this game, and honestly you should have given it at least 1-2 weeks before passing judgement on it. Your final verdict was way off the mark, and shows you learned nothing at all about the game.
"The biggest negative that I found with this game was that missions are player driven. There is no PvE element to the game at all. As a result, you are totally dependant on players for your gaming experience."
Hum, could you explain this a bit more? Are you referrring to the mission terminals where you can select an auto generated mission, which then leads you to a personal instanced mission area?
Did you speak with any of the NPC's in the starting area which issued you a quest?
Not every game is for every gamer, but I would be interested in learing how you came to make the above statements.
Actually, I just realized that I should have posted this under Faces of Mankind.
However, Anarchy Online was a little too "early Everquest" for my tastes. There were also too many player built cities that seemed to have little more than teleporters in them. I am not sure what purpose that served.
The graphics were poor, but character creation was decent. I actually played this for about a week. Sorry for the mix up. It is funny how defensive people get on these sites. Does anyone actually work?

I remember. It was the first MMORPG I ever played. I was so happy! I could
run around for hours just exploring Rubi-Ka. I played for 2-3 years, and I can
bet I have seen more of the world of Rubi-Ka then the most veterans have done.
You should try to do something more then just getting to max level buy the 3rd
day you play the game.
Anarchy Online were good before. It's still good. But there are so many games
out right now that has better graphic. And that's what most people struggle after,
graphics. They don't care if the game mentioned happen to have one of the best
skill systems ever seen in a MMORPG.
Also, at 146 you haven't even seen 1/5 of the game yet, so, you have a lot more
to enjoy.
I, myself played AO for 2-3 years, but I canceled my account because I'm waiting
for AoC right now. Go FunCom!
[b}Wow! Much gold. So amaze!

Almost all new MMO's have 3rd party middleware...

I have been playing online games for twenty years now. I have enough experience to know what makes a good game and what does not.
