trail EOF, and what is it all about?

CazeroCazero Member Posts: 56
Well I downloaded the EOF trial, and it said that I would start out as a fea then I could play other characters. Well I never could select a Fea it's blacked out in character creation. Apperently I can't make a character anyhow when trying to.

Anyhow this made me realize I didn't have access to he new city and that it's a good aligned city.

1. So I'm wondering do u have to be a good char to experience all EOF has to offer or can a low lvl Evil character show up there and lvl there?

2. If not is there high lvl content there for evil characters?

3. Other than those questions What does EOF have to offer since I don't have with the trail I dled (FYI i got the eof trail not the isle one)?

Are you sure you got the new "Play the Fae" trial and not the old "Trial of the Isle"?

yeah pretty sure, was planning on the Isle one, and heard about the EOF  on on the boards here and went to that dl page. Seems I don't even have the isle one either It might be that I was using an account that I had played EQ2 the first month it was out with.

I'm enjoying the game none the less but just wondering if I do resubscribe would it be worth the extra cash to get all the xpansions with the eof box since i'm from Freeport.

P.S. is there a code I need to input into the xpnasion registry?

Oooer, sounds a bit bizarre. Are you absolutely sure you downloaded the Play the Fae trial? I'm not 100% certain what you do when starting the trials, seeing as I bought the dvd box of the game shortly before Desert of Flames came out, but I'm fairly certain when you boot it up (and have let the patcher upload the 3.5gb!) it takes you straight to a special fae character creation screen, then you start in the Greater Faydark noob zone.

Perhaps you starting with an old account is confusing it. Even so, if your not starting in GF, you should be on the other starter zone; the trial isle! If your not starting here either, you must be playing an old character of yours surely?

Your other question regarding the new zones; yes it's worth you getting them all. EoF has zones that cater for all levels, and you'll find yourself cursing people for wanting to group in a zone you cannot access. Yes it's true, evil toons cannot enter the Fae city of Kelethin, but that is all. The rest is open to all players.

Don't get the digital downloads of them though. For some insane reason SOE are not offering all the expansions in a bundle as a download (probably because downloads do not reflect game sales, unlike the boxsets, I dunno I'm just guessing here!). Go find yourself a copy of the Echoes of Faydwer boxset (various online shops stock it such as play.com & amazon if you can't find it in your local retailer). You will get all 3 expansions included for free; Desert of Flames, Kingdom of Sky, & Echoes of Faydwer, as well as the basic game.

I hope this helps. Sorry to hear your having problems with the trials.

EDIT ~ It's just occurred to me after re-reading your post, you are aware Fae's cannot be evil yet? Fae's have to be of good alignment, and start in Kelethin or Qeynos. At a later date SOE will be including them in the betrayal system, but not at the present time. Ifyour wanting an evil toon, you'll have stick to other races for now.

Currently returned to Norrath after disliking Hyboria.
