Merge all 3 Guild Wars games hera at MMORPG.

So when Darkfall comes out, most likley it will shoot to the top of the chart like the other two. It does not make sense to have all 3 listed with their own seperate areas.

Please merge all 3 into one.

Darkfall ? The expansions Nightfall

Since they are played as seperate games, hence can be rated differently, it makes sense to keep them seperate.

From what i hear, Nightfall should be rated higher than the other two anyways.

I think they'd be better off merging them too, but oh well. More plubicity for our favourite game I guess, thanks to mmorpg.com for being fools about the whole idea I thought it was a recipe for disaster since City of Villians came out.

I think it'll reach a point where mmorpg.com will be forced to do something about Guildwars 'taking over' of the top ranked mmorpgs. There isnt a lot of upcoming mmorpgs that will tramp out Guildwars, so I'd say Guildwars has at least another good year of campaigns before the Guildwars games start falling off the Highest Ranked list... By that time there will be 5 of em. Ridiculous.

... mmm ... 5 campaigns. I salivate at the thought..

I don't think they will take over, some of the mmo's that are coming out in the next few months look impressive.

Actually they call them exansions but in every means there not they are just continuations of the story line given in different parts. I mean they give you an entirely new game, stand alone, new items, new mission, new quests, new world.

Expansions like the WoW expansion coming are just add-ons where you need the original game, where they just add on more items and playable space to a game that is already there. There is no actual game play change.

Thats where Guild Wars gets ya not only is every expansion stand alone but it gives you a change in game play like the new hero system in nightfall, or factions... in well factions lol.

But anyways, there are alot of game build off the same engine as one that has already been made. Take engines like BigWord or the new Hero engine. Each will or have been used to make more than 1 game. Does each game made from the same engine fall under the same game? Of cource not and thats what Guild Wars is a new Guild Wars is just a new game from the same moded engine with the Guild Wars name stamped onto it.

It's all the same game, and they come out with expansions on a fairly regular basis, so the entire MMORPG list needs to be filled with Guild Wars and its expansions? It's completely rediculous. Yes, they are all able to be played on their own without having the other components, but they are all part of the same game! This is like listing every EQ expansion on its own. It's pretty rediculous. Personally, I think they need to do the same thing with City of Heroes/City of Villains.

^^^ totally agree. Any game that can be played stand-alone deserves to be seperate. Say if i only owned Nightfall - i couldn't possibly rate ALL three games as one (as this would make scoring unfair), as i'd only have played the third. Seperate all the way! Guild Wars for total MMORPG.com domination! Viva La Guildwars!

you just explained why gw chapters should be listed seperately and add to that every stand-alone deserves a rating and ratings shouldn't be combined because if one chapter has bad ratings, it shouldnt affect the other. Players who who play only one chapter shouldnt based their rating on the other two chapters players dont own but that chapter they owny only and vice versa.

Well, it looks like they disabled Guildwars Factions and Guildwars Nightfall from the top MMORPG list here at mmorpg.com. Hopefully this'll satisfy everyone enough Sorta unfair that City of Heros/City of Villians are both on the top list now!

Glad they did this though, it was just silly before, and I'm sure a lot of people were giving poor reviews just because they didnt like seeing three guildwars titles on the main page.

Guildwars Nightfall is #1 on the list now, but it is disabled from the main page so I doubt many people are seeing it. Probably better really, I have the feeling that everytime something passes EVE Online on the main page there is a rush to push it down again.

CoH and CoV arent both on top 7 anymore, not because of anything MMORPG.com has done about it, but just because they were pushed down to make way for higher ranked games. So thats good.

Pretty crappy of them to remove the GW expansions / standalones however they kept City of villains up there. Really tacky of them. oh well City of villains is fighting for top 10 spot against FFXI and anarchy anyway

i think it is good that they have disabled the first two chapters but like cov and coh there should kep the lastest two chapters up and running so we have something to vote.So as a new chapter emerges the oldest should be retired from the list.

I'm really glad that Nightfall isnt on the main page's list. Did you guys see what happened to Prophecies when it overcame EVE for first place? It was at first place for a couple hours, then BAM, it was pressed all the way down to forth. It's working its way back up again now I suppose... I think whenever a MMORPG overcomes EVE, a frenzy of voting ensures EVE's #1 slot again.

I'm just glad Nightfall is safely immune to that, since it is not on the main page list, allowing it to take the slot of the #1 rated MMORPG without anyone even knowing it!

I registered an account just to comment on this. People who complain "z0mg they r teh expansions nd teh same game y they no merger them wtf?!?/?" they demonstrate an abject ignorance of the Guild Wars games. Each "expansion" is an entirely seperate game. They're seperate campaigns, completely independent from each other. Each has its own strengths, weaknesses, and features. Why shouldn't the site differentiate between each game? People should examine each campaign and decide which of the games they want to play, as it is completely unnecessary to buy all three of them if someone doesn't like one or more of the packs.

All this boils down to is fanbois of some other MMO pissed off that "their" game isn't on the front page.

Actually I think (I'm not sure) that they've just merged them into one. So the score that Guild Wars has is based upon the average of all 3 games. It would've been nice for them to at least mention this (or that they'd just cut out the other campaigns - whichever is true), but what can you do?

Well I think the ratings also reflect WoWs position in the mmorpg community. Obviously its a decent game and has tons of subscribers, but since a lot of the WoW players play pretty casually or are not interested in a lot of mmorpgs, they dont spend as much time here at mmorpg.com. So in a way, the ratings here at mmorpg.com represent the detication of a mmorpgs fans, not simply a survey of mmorpg players, because not all types of mmorpg players are willing to visit this site.

Anyways, I think that in a way EVE deserves the first slot. Not only is it a great mmorpg with tons of innovation, great and lasting gameplay, ect, but it has an amazing, mature community. This is all despite EVE being made by a very small developer, in a relatively small budget. GW is more of the game for me though.
