Alright from what i understand karma happens when you kill things if you bring up your inventory (press i) and look beside it there is a number in red. The goal is to get that number to 1000 and youl get a blood shard (or whatever it is they call it) they also have a chance to drop randomly as well i belive. Anyway this shard can be sold or used to upgrade your weapon.Having more then 1 karma is said to improve your chance at drops but this cant be proven yet.
Thats pretty much how it works from what i understand and have read on the 9dragons forums.Hope i answered your question
blood count - it raises ever 1-3 kills. get it to 999 and you get a blood essence(used for item refining)
now Karma is a nifty thing. kill some mobs over and over, for lonhg periods of time and it will slowly rise.
mind you, SLOWLY. Now, if you die or zone into a different map,, it will lower by a few. not sure, but it might lower my more if you have more. but its never the whole count from one death, unless your at 2. Or if you have none then it will take a long time to get 1 point, again.
The higher your karma, the more drops you will see. Gold starts dropping in more amounts. items drop more often. rare drops easier to find.
Ive gotten my karma to 79. i get about 80 gold a kill, every kill(95% of the time) and i get the mob drops more often than not. i get a key or a chest or a blue drop every 5-15 kills.
karma can be raised for revivals, and possibly quests. but every time you go uncoscious(even if your revived) or you zone, your karma lowers. and yes, while it may be every 50 blood count is 1 karma, they are 2 very different things, like i previously stated.
Yes, indeed karma and blood count are two different things or they would have the same name if they were the same, correct? I described how they are linked and how you can keep up with how you can gain karma. As for how having 300 kills and only 1 karma I have no explaination for that. I am not saying that your blood count is a exactly for your karma, I'm basically saying you gain karma from killing and that as a guide every 50+ kills on your blood count you gain 1 karma. Hence, that would link bloodcount to karma
Bassicley Karma and Blood counter are connected, Kiling will get you some Karma, Dieng makes you lose Karma. Karma allows you to get nice and very rare drops. BUT!!!!!! every 50 killins in the kill counter does not give you 1+ karma. So think of it like this "i get karma for killing mobs, but there is no way to be sure of when i will get it.

I've seen no link at all between the blood count and karma, dying does drop it down but since my last death which dropped me down to 1 karma I've had over 200 kills, done some quests and am still at 1 karma

doing quests alone wont raise your karma. they have to be karma quests, and even then they just make it raise faster for the time being. (maybe say a karma quest raises chance for karma by 2% for X hours. not really sure yet, but i know it helps.)
as for the 50 blood count, i went up one point at 47. then another at 93. and another at 151.
also i believe it raises faster the more you have. im at 87 now, and its still rising.
Didn't say I did quests alone, I both killed over 200 and did quests, with my Wu-Tang Blue Dragon and it stayed at 1, also just did one of the Karma quests with my Shaolin Deva just to check that, again no change (Shaolin's karma is at 2). If it was tied at all to kills my Wu-Tang's would have risen since his is over 200 and my Shaolin's would also be higher since his is close to 300. Something else must be involved. I also tried killing the same creature over and over, a few hundred Blood Monks with my Wu-Tang, again no rise now working in Jinan on the Lightnings.
Whatever the real cause of it is I'd really like to know, but I don't believe any of the current theories hold from my own observations.

a couple questions, are you zoning? are you getting knocked unconscious(whether you get raised back or not)? BOTH of these things take it down a little bit each time. All if you only have 1-4 or so.
while it may not be directly from number of kills, it is relative to killing in some way.
maybe the amount of time spent fighting the same monster without zoning, taking a break, (other than medding. like a doctor run) or dieing contributes to karma. But it IS involved with killing and karma quests. Otherwise youd get karma while afk skilling or while selling gear in a stall.
Although, I think it takes a VERY long time to get it started. It took me about 2 hours of constant twin blade farming to get my first 2 points. After that it started going up quicker. I got it to 7 that day, afk skilled all night and woke up still with 7. Fighting all day on blood monks I got it to 17(died once, hit up Wu-tang city for skills once.) Slept, still there. Since then i have gotten it in the 90s.
Not sure what you mean by your use of zoning here. No I haven't been getting knocked out, I occasionally get killed and that has knocked it down (Highest I saw my Wu-Tang's was 9 no idea what got it to there though). As to time on it's my usual practice to spend hours at a time killing, I usually bring about 50 - 100 golden medicines, kill, meditate, kill again (depending on the level of the fight this may be kill a number then med to kill 1 then med). As to questing, I do every quest that comes up, right before my previous post I got on my Shaolin and did one of the Roads to Karma quests (Old Man's Letter). As to skills it's not usually my practice to sleep and level my skills, Vital Energy only lasts a while anyway depending on what skills I'm working on.
To be honest I hadn't even noticed the good karma until the first posting of this, since then I've only seen it go down, never up. I'm near the point of wanting to delete one of my characters just to restart and figgure this out.
by zoning i mean every time you leave the starter map area for the next one.
i believe Wu-tang / Shaolin / Beggar place
then theres Zhu Shang or something, then theres Hefei, Jinan... etc.
each map is a different zone, and each time you change it lowers by some.
as for doing a Roads to Karma quest, it simply lets you get karma faster during your killing.
If you cant see it go up, then start fighting lower mobs so you can kill more than 1 before you meditate. maybe meditating counts as a break too.
and as for afk skilling, you can get accessories that raise your VE while in peace mode without meditating from Hefei, letting you train your auras (steps/meditate) for unlimited time. and as for skills you cant really afk skill an attack. but on my nuke I have 3.7k VE, and can afk skill my wisdom buff for a long time considering it takes about 7 Ve per cast.
Ok I thought that was what you meant, slang has a way of changing though, at one time zoning would have meant continuous play. I go where I need to for quests or trade then stay in the area I need for leveling (low level in the clan area, then on to Death Valley (There's 2 Death Valleys Light Clan, Zhengzhou and Dark Clans, Shi Zhang, Jinan is The Valley of Hell) I haven't had karma lower by changing maps, you're required to change for quests so I don't really believe they would make it change for that.
Accessories I know about and peace mode I just found out about, the unlimited though I think depends on your level, the amount of VE you have and the amount of VE regen you have from items.
I just deleted my RC 7 Shaolin Deva (TimeMatrix) last night so I could start a new character and test (Shaolin again but this time I'm testing the tanker class, Hybrid was ok but I want to see how Shaolin stacks up agains my Wu-Tang tank). The new character started with 0 Good Karma and 1 Bad Karma ::starts singing "Born Bad":: karma didn't change until I died at LS 6 doing the first apprentice quest when torn down by two tigers (as if one there wasn't bad enough) then Bad Karma went to 0 (so did my first 40 Blood Count), Good Karma didn't rise until LS 8 when Blood Count was at 29 and then again at GC 1 with 109 Blood Count, spent most of the night training skills so no other rise in karma (and no drop when changing maps, currently in Hefei training steps and LF (9)).
As to training lower level monsters I had been using Light Blues to train up actives, he (my Wu-Tang, TimeWyrm) got enough kills to get Blood (877 the next time before a bit of "I just woke up and forgot to hit the skill button before I attack" stupidity left me taking a dirt nap with Drunken Swordsmen dancing on my grave).
I'll keep testing with my new Shaolin though (TimeNexus) and keeping an eye on every change.

That's pretty much how I keep track of my karma or gives me an idea when I am due for one. But as I said it's a guide for me and helps. if you want to use it as a guide to sorta help you try it.
Time, I also did further testing with my new character (previously on euro server. wiped now, starting over in american.) It seems zoning doesnt affect karma at all. Currently my new wu-tang is GC5 and has 6 good karma and 1 bad karma(I've yet to die. I want to find another way to get rid of the bad karma. Or it could possibly be another benefit, considering it goes away upon entering a state of unconsciousness. who knows.) I'm at 270 or so Blood count. I'll continue to update as I find out more.
Maybe if a monster is weaker than you it wont give as much or any karma. I kind of noticed a jump where I had 5 karma at GC1 and didnt get the 6th until GC5. During that time I was fighting greens, then moved to light blues occasionally(getting 2nd cheng for sword attack. a requirement for apprentice.)
Possibly(random numbers. just thinking while typing)[this is also with as little downtime as possible]:
Could be right, I was fighting mostly oranges up to my last level, had 5 Karma (2 deaths to the 2 Tigers that were in Shaolin area) prior to the shutdown when I woke up and found the world gone (now that's some bad karma) Oh well guess I'll never know now. Anyway been nice trying to figure this out, maybe see you in another game.
Oh, for anyone who IS going to Acclaim, I'd suggest going out and getting yourself killed before you do anything just to get rid of that bad karma, it may be a cheap way of doing it but until it's figured out it may be the best way.
