well lets see, the game has lots of combos and the skills are pretty cool too. When u choose skills there r like different elements and they do matter. For example, when i use wind magic on my force blader it was possible to stun them, but when i used fire it burned them. The animations for the skills r quite nice to look at. There wasn't a point in the game when i said, "i'm bored of these animations." Umm, lets see, the combat is really kinda fast especially when you have a good gfx card cuz then the gfx in the game look really nice. What i really loved about the game was the fact that you get experience for every hit on a monster not after u kill the monster. I really wish they had that for alot of games out now. It's not like these programmers are the originators of such an idea but it worked out quite well in this game since the combat is so fast paced. Ya there is more but im tired so enjoy that
Hey ikaruga, since you seem to know the game well :
I just started last weekend and I have a question : I know this is a Korean game, and it was released there and in Japan first, but when did it launch in Europe? I saw guys over lvl 100 so I'm wondering ... Did they begin at the closed beta? Don't characters in beta always be wiped before the real game begins? The version I'm playing now is still an open beta or the complete game?
Because I think it's a scandal to make people pay for a beta ...
Korean first, Japan, and any other Asian countries, Europe, and then the international version a.k.a the United States version. That was the order Cabal online came out in. After the first closed beta there was a wipe (i missed this one), but the second i don't recall there being a wipe. So that means around October going all the way into January that was enough time to hit lv 100+ in Cabal. The Cabal online in Europe was in open beta im not sure if it still is. This version (US/International) should be going into open beta but i haven't gotten any confirmation on that from anybody. ESTsoft Corp seems to be really lazy in giving updates =/ so ya.
To answer the payment thing, i dunno if there has been any game that went into closed beta that required u to pay. Maybe ask you for ur CC number, for example MxO. Closed Beta is naturally free, a testing period before releasing it publically (open beta/final release in stores).
Thanks for shedding some light on the game play. Visually it looks like a good game and I like the fact you get XP for hits and not just at the end of the fight. Alot of combat options and skills is a really good thing especially when you spend most of your game time doing that. Let us uninformed people know what else is going on with the game. Thanks again for dropping some info
You can download and try this game for yourself, 7 days trial. At least we Europeans can from their EU site at http://www.cabalonline.com/
I was going to do that myself just now, but then I saw this comment on the EU site:
A stylish action MMORPG (Massive Multi-player Online Role Playing Game), CABAL Online is a 3rd person 3D role playing game which places you in a graphically vivid world of non-stop hack & slash action mixed with hundreds of quests.
"Non-stop hack & slash" doesn't appeal to me, so I changed my mind.
PS The adress above may look more US than EU, but that's where I was taken when choosing Europe from their main site:
