It seems u forgot that ur acctually testing a game NOT just playing it. As for reasons to get high lvl though, they do have competitions, i think there was a whole new computer system for the highest level character at some stage of testing... not too sure on the details, i'll find a link.

(EDIT) Well that competitions already over. It was for the first person to hit level 40

lmao.. just check www.lineage2.com ;).. open beta is acutally not really a testing stage.. it's a competition to see whose gona be pros and noobs in the p2p ;).. (thats for a gamer's view)

for the company.. it's just a stress test.. and don won't wipe it coz they know many won't pay if they do that for open beta ;)..

Yer a gamers view, and for testing that happens to be the wrong view. fortunately for you and others in your situation they aren't worried about people doing that in a open beta, including stress testing. However for closed betas i personally think that they should be more strict on people to actually test games and not just play them, and i refer to games such as WoW who from their beta application forms didn't seem worried at all about getting people with previous experience testing... and for situations like that not only is it their loss, but its also the loss of us.. the gamers.

i was in the closed beta.. but i just treated it like my normal game... play play  train train.. but i reported many bugs too ;)..

  • ParaTrooperParaTrooper Member Posts: 1,961
Well thats good then, but im sure for 99% of the people who treated it like a game didnt report anything except when the game wasnt working and they wanted to complain.

well thats one part of what i've been trying to say :) the other being that a similar situation should apply in open betas, and that dev's need to put more effort into finding people that acctually will test their games.

i can't see how they try to find better testers.. everything on the net is a bluff ;)..  u can fake your mmorpg experiences and stuff.. they can't really find good testers.. for open beta.. their main aim is just to stress test i guess ;)..

Lineage 2 NA open beta is just a way to promote the game and get more subscribers, they have competitions for fastest leveling and other things and also make sure everyone know that their beta characters won't be wiped.

I don't really understand why they even had the closed beta and big patches when they already tested all that in Asian beta, wouldn't it be better to just translate whole game to english and then let people test the working game that will be released...

It's not a way of stupidity. waht I am asking is a legible question

In game, I heard someone say "DON'T EVEN TRY, CHARACTERS WON'T CARRY OVER!"

and i got a little worried, now with a little rudness by others I have found out they do carry over

    thank you for your helpimage
