As an ex-master pistoleer I ask all other master pistoleer to please tell me when their profession actully ever worked....yup thats right...never. I give to thumbs up too Hactar for not sitting around complaining and realizing the game was already broken beyond repair to begin with.

Actually, I do remember pre-CU quite well.

I remember being frustrated by SOE's lack of action when it came to addressing problems in SWG. Much like it is today.

The only difference is that when I logged in during pre-CU I could still be quite entertained for several hours a day. There is even quite a few lost weekends during this time. However when I log into SWG now I am thourghly bored within minutes.

You say you had fun in pre-CU mainly because it was Star Wars? Well, I had fun in pre-CU for its original and unique skill based system, advanced (and meaningful) crafting system, as well as an interdependant and fun community.

You know what would be totally awesome. If you could create a band with several other player characters to play with or maybe form a dance group .   Or has that been done already.  Probably not enough people anyway to form a group.  Ya probably better to just spawn some bots to play with.  Maybe bounty hunters can spawn their targets so they dont have to track them down, or maybe groups can spawn mobs instead of going out and looking of lairs.  Oh how bout being able to spawn your own group to hunt with, hell spawn a whole raid.

This is what I wouild like to see,   /spawn pre-cu server.

I know they've got an entire section where you all can complain in, so take it out there.  These sections are for the people that find the game fun.  In other words, the people that don't have their blinders on that prevent them from seeing that this game can still be enjoyed in almost all the ways that were there before.
Now, as for the announcment, I'm not sure what to think.  I've never really paid much attention to entertainers.  I honestly think they should be completely revamped as they dont' do much.  Even before NGE, I never got their purpose.  Then again, I never understood mind damage.  As if my brain was hurting from thinking too much or something.  You'll note that no other game, on or off line, has ever done that.  At least none that I know of.
I couldn't say if this is a good thing or a bad thing.  If it's simply to make up for the low number of Entertainers, I'd say consolidating the servers would be better.  Just automaticly pack up the houses for everyone and move them into a smaller number of servers.  Mayers would be given a free deed to a City Hall and a set amount of credit to re do their city in the new server.
Well, that's all I got to say.  Be good you guys.  Leave the flames in the oven.

This was what i entertainer could do SWG-pre-cu.

And asfar the topic goes i think its a good step towards entertainers in SWG, not seeing anything wrong with it and might be fun. It will not make me try or come back again cause i have seen what SWG could be and its nothing like that anymore but it might be still a okay game for those new to SWG.

I could not claim the game is dead as i havn't got any recent experiance of SWG lately, i could say WOW is slowly dying as i recently (2 day's ago) went back (how stupid of me ..i know :P) and just to see all places that normaly would be crowed are empty, the only places with alott of people was at the new ras area's and in BC but this is a different topic.

So my conclusion is that dispite what my feeling where in the past towards SOE and pre-cu SWG doesn't mean the game at its current state is a bad game its just not my style anymore, hope many others do enjoy the game.

Wow... cantinas are so empty that now you have to play with a shadow band. Go figure.

As for the above responses/pre-cu bashers/nge fanbois, I do remember pre-cu SWG. I remember the good and the bad. I remember being able to jump into a group, and kill rancors for hours on end for the fun of it. I remember dizzy/kd being pretty fricken gay (even though I had ways of getting back up), I remember crafting awesome equipment (1700 condition krayt geo pistol ftw) and most importantly of all, I remember playing a game that my friends played. There isnt a game like this anywhere else, and this is why I honestly seek a pre-cu swg experience.

    EQ II

    Same Engine

Why does EQ II have a ton of content, great graphics, amazing innovation. Where as SWG seems to be slowed down to nothing. to me it seems like SWG is being held back. These new ideas are great. But this game still has major lag issues, memory leaks, and so forth. It seems like EQ II has a ton of freedom where SWG does not. It is kind of a shame.

It's already been done and a group can have up to 8 band members. There are plenty of Entertainers, at least where I play. The holo-band is obviously for those who lack the time or energy to form a group with players. Only a band of players can have more than 4 members, though, which is an encouragment to go find a group. This is just another choise added, and choises are good... right?

To those who say there barely aren't any Ents left (false) - isn't it much better than to have none at all? I'm talking about all other big fishes out there who has nothing but combat classes. Don't forget, after all, SWG is the only MMO that has entertainers (or, at least they were first).

A little too late, all the entertainers have found greener pastures!  This isn't enough to bring people to pay 15.00 a month to play.. R.I.P.

Honestly, you could add the 15% from JTL into An Empire Divided--this is what SWGEmu is doing. They're going for the best of all worlds.

LOL...don't really know what to say about all the trash talking.  It is really getting lame.

I was pre-cu and have remained an avid SWG player throughout the NGE upgrades.  I am having fun each night.  SWG was my first MMORPG experience and I was tempted away by several friends.  I tried several of the more popular ones with my friends and kept coming back to SWG.  What is really funny is that in the last two weeks I have met seven other people that have returned to the game with a passion.

I know many entertainers, crafters and traders who are looking forward to some of these changes.  Not because they feel the game is lame as is but because they see this as giving them more ways to be creative and express themselves as the entertain us and buff us.  So if it makes them happy and they are enjoying the game why trash talk it???  I do not get it.

I gave the nge a fair shot, but I had to face reality at some point, and so did my wallet. I just couldn't justify paying a monthly fee for something that I rarely used, and believe me when I say, I really gave it a fair shot. Pre-cu, my friends and I had a well laid out city with decent traffic, and you would find yourself not being able to wait to get home or wake up and jump on swg. We had a few businesses running and all of our content was player created and had longevity. After the nge, we stuck with it, and we even tried to do our part to make it work. I had brought allot of friends with me to that game, but facts are facts, people simply left and didn't come back and since the game was redesigned for solo play, there wasn't much there to start up a new community.

They can make as many of these changes as they like, but as people have said, they'll just pull it all out from under you in a few months anyway. And ya, I'm probably wasting my time ranting about a game that I don't play anymore, but myself and quite a few others had invested allot of time and money into that game, we have a right to complain. It's not like we just got bored after awhile and slowly moved on, at least in that case I could chalk it off as lack of interest and not bother with it.

Never give up and never surrender!

I enjoyed both empire divided and jtl.  Heck, I didn't even mind the CU, it at least got rid of the insanely overpowered doc buff system.

But the NGE cancelled the scrip for me.  Not even so much the concept itself, but the implementation; you had maybe 5 or 6 actual manuevers and like 6-7 different levels of each, and if you respec'ed a high level character, you had to search for which ones to use.

But I really didn't know how outdated the game was until I tried other games.  How your character moves; that they won't step up onto a platform unless you approach it a certain way... being incapable of a real jump(a jedi that can't jump???).  These are improvements they could have made, rather than completely redoing the game every 6 months.  Thats the big mistake they made; instead of adding features, bit by bit to the game to keep ahead of the competition, they chose to waste time making a whole new game on the old platform, twice.

I came back about 2 months ago, and tried the game again.  Compared to even the betas I've tested, this game still remains buggy and badly interfaced.  Obviously the direct result of the whole structure of the game being torn from it's original intent, twice.

While it may seem strange to come here and bash this game, there is a goal in mind.  The goal is to drive the final nail in this games coffin, so a new, unbroken, Star Wars MMO can be made.  In hopes of that, this game can't die soon enough.
