Someone that has never played asked a questine, one that made me think of WHO the resent events have upset the most.

Are the majority of those that are quiting over the events that unfloded, old timers, or noobs...just what are the stats on those leaving?

well, based on the real votes, it looks like the old timers are quiting mostly.

Hardly surprising, the oldtimers are the ones with the best skills and most likely to go for the "endgame" in 0.0. So they are hit hardest by problems with ally-level cheating.

The 'old timers' are also the ones who are the most bored with the game anyway after playing it for years and just need an excuse to move on to something else.

The old timers are the ones most likely to be affected by the alliance level scams that have come to light recently other players wont be tho as this would ahve mainly affected alliances.

Im still playing eve tho as im not alliance level.

I'm only 5 months old. If that's the endgame then I'm not investing another year or two into the game for any other "developments" to surface. I got burned with SWG and that investment turning out to be a waste of time with the NGE being foisted on an unsuspecting public. I'm sure as hell gonna avoid any ... how shall I put it... "dev interaction" from making my endgame goals irrelevant.

hey baldly your a poster boy for stats lying the largest single group is old schoolers but as a % more peple at 1 year or less are quitting tho arguement could be made the 9% of trial players would have quit anyway.

Actualy  CCP has stated that the average EVE player goes for 8 months at a time. A lot of us older players will play for 8 -10 months then take a break for a bit.

There is no end game which is actually the problem.  Think about it, EVE is a game you will never win, oh you can win a battle here or there but the game itself can never be won.  You hear the new players, 1 year olds and less, talking about how the PVP means something but the reality is that it does'nt to the old players. I lost 3 ships last week tring to see if I could do the Angel Extravangaza in a Destroyer. Big whoop lossing those 3 ships set me back from 38 ships to 35 (at that base).  Even when Im podded that sets me back all of 15 min (how long it takes me to plug in all of my replacement halo set). The older players quitting are more likely quitting due to EVE being stagnet than any of the current events becuse the old timers know that these are CCP SOP (standard opperating procedures) and have seen worse in EVE before.  I did wipe one 3 year old  Avatar   and reroll this Avatar just to try something new.

Until there is a new Sci Fi MMOG thats playable the older players will come back after a well deserverd break, or at least that has been the case with me.

Eve is an excellent sci fi mmo. I have been playing on and off since beta. Although I ussually only last about 2-3 months at a go. And will re-up twice a year.

you make a nice post about game play, then how the current events are SOP for ccp...and then say you will continue to support them...

you are so addicted to a game that you toss your morals out the window so you can still play a game?

seriously, think about it, support a company that even you are saying, knowingly lies, cheats, lets their buddies use exploits, just so you can play a game...yaaaaaaa...well its your loss of time/cash, not mine.

Don't forget that older players are the ones most likely to come to the forums, more casual players generally don't deal with the game much outside actually playing.

    very good point.

might I add, most customers that are not happy with a company, just leave, never say a word.

So to know what they are doing wrong, a company has to listen to those that do complain or they will soon find they have too few sales to stay in business.
