Do you have any new info on when the r600 is coming out? I've seen broad info about the dates but I don't know if they are current and accurate....and they are broad so it kinda sucks.

I haven't seen the specs on the R600's, however I do know the current 8800 GTX cards require a minimum of 28amps on the 12volt rail. The power supply you have listed has 30a. You should make sure you have enough to cover the requirements of the R600.

Edit: You'd probably get better performance for cheaper if you scrap the 150 GB drive and put in 2 80+GB SATA 3.0GB drives in RAID0 configuration. It looks like your motherboard supports that.

(? $300 to 600) R600 specs notice the 240 to 270 watt pwr req, so 600 to 800W three 12v rail PS will be needed... two 12v rail for a pair of gpu and the third rail for the cpu, then buncha 5v for the hds, fans, ect. Actually the ps just has a single 12v rail, divided into 2 or 3 to meet cert req. Look for quiet fan ps and similar low noise fan for the cpu.

also vista/DX10 gaming OS will be another $300.

A 500W ps (Power Supply) would only be good enough in a single gpu, cpu and hd (Hard Drive) system, with two 12v rails.

Of cource you must get the pci express motherboard. Atm, seems the intel dual core cpu are ahead in the performance reviews.

    edit: consider ($163) a Seasonic S12 SS-650 (SS-650HT, item #78129) from www.axiontech.com 281.575.0007

The ATI r600 cards require A LOT of power. I would go with a 800watt with AT LEAST 32a 12v rail
