I just wondered what people's thoughts are about game companies that ban you from playing MMORPG's and don't repay the money you have payed forunplayed game time.
NCSOFT being a prime example.
Personally, I think they shouldn't keep the gamers money!!!
If you look at it like this, they ban 10'000 people with 2 months of play time left at 8.99 pounds a month, that's 20'000 gaming months lost and about 179,900 pounds kept in revenue..

Cheats and hackers get off lightly IMHO, i'd love to see a global Database which lists the address and CC detials of any 1 who hacks and cheats in an MMO, that way when they try to sign up to another MMO they cant... ofc this wont happen but its an idea.
If your banned from diriving for drinking or whatever do you expect the remainder of your roadtax to be refunded?
You can raclaim roadtax, you just take the tax disk back.
So, if your falsley accused of cheating and are banned, then thats ok?
It doesn't matter what the circumstances are. Look at the banking sector.. people are reclaiming unfair charges and it's going to spread.
The fact is that the gaming companies have retained money for unpayed play time.
And why do the big companies that sell in game currency get away with ????
No they aren't going to refund you.
More than likely when you agreed to the terms of service you agreed to let them keep your money if they ban you.
If your banned from diriving for drinking or whatever do you expect the remainder of your roadtax to be refunded?
There's a big difference between screaming and shouting at a move and getting banned from an MMORPG.
And I can't believe you said it was ok for a company to keep your money. If a drinks machine doesn't give you you'r drink do you just walk off?
post me your money please
As far as I'm concerned, anyone who plays an MMORPG should read the rules. If they are stupid enough to break the rules then they deserve to be banned and lose the money (which would be stated in the rules).
Fireburst, when you are banned and you have a license it can be for an x number of years and a couple of points on your license, afterwhich you can drive again. If you have more than 12 points (i think) on your license then you have you license taken away.
Drink driving is different. You get automatically banned, period (at least in the UK).
Your choice to waste your money paying for a product then abuse it so you are banned from using it. They never told you to break every rule in the book, they never tried to get you banned. You paid for it.. then decided you wanted to risk your money by breaking the rules... Suit yourself, I hope it was the last of your allowance.
"This is not a game to be tossed aside lightly.
It should be thrown with great force"
So, It's ok for people to loose out on money if they are banned from gaming.
In the UK people are charged so much for services they don't receive and it's a shame.
Sign the petition against the UK being UNDERcharged by Microsoft for Vista

p.s. I hate MicroSoft, they have ripped of so many people/companies.
How much was your copy of Windows.
You've never copied a game.
You've bought every single album you own
The arguement here was for falsley accused.
dont fill in this poll please, use the one on the front page.... my fault
I'm glad to see them banned.
Consider the unused part of a banned subscription as a tax on stupidity.
Hmm maybe, if you paid something like a 6 month subscription and got banned. It isn't really fair just because you opted for a longer subscription over a shorter subscription that you get punished for that. Though, it's a difficult situation as person who may have bought 6 months and not used the other 1 month won't likely get a refund and will instead perhaps stay as a credit on the account which obviously a banned person can't use.
I agree, and the what aout the developers of the software used in the process of botting?
This is interesting, keep your thoughts coming in and thanks to all involved.
I got banned BUT I PLAYED EVEYDAY.... FOR 2 YEARS...............
I was in a clan and was active and even petitiond regularly.
Oh and as for geting kicked out of a cinema nd not getting your money back... If you make enough fuss you can get it back.
In the UK you are entitled to get your money back for services/time/products unused.
I voted no;
You got banned for a REASON, tough luck on you.
"If a drinks machine doesn't give you you'r drink do you just walk off?"
Yes, most people do.
11 yearolds should be forbidden to play online games, have an opinion and a means to voice that opinion.
