Why are "geeks" always so angry and defensive? It amazes me to see how utterly nasty these types of people are. They hate religion, and they hate Bush. Why?
If I walked into a pen and paper RPG club with "Ringlets" in it and mentioned God, they would start beating me over the head with their rubber swords and mallets. Even Christian geeks I know are complete jerks.
But I'll tell you this: nothing creeps me out more than a bunch of "adults" talking about something that doesn't even exist. It doesn't even seem real to me!
Maybe because it isn't...

Well...
I LOVE to argue with everything, especially about the most powerfull man decisions when I feel they lack, but it is arguing, not bashing.
Even if Bush would burn down half the world, I would only be arguing, and saying he is wrong and evil, but no more!
I will never fall in line behind principles that are against the US constitution even if I am not American and will never be(mainly, they are not applied like they should, which would be my main issue about why Canada should never join US in anything more then economic, we, Canadians, follow it more then Americans but we are by no mean a self rightheous and perfect state, we did our dumb stuff as well), and following blindly any man in any country would be against the US constitution, folks have an inherent right to disagree and discuss and consider everything.
Someone knowing the form of the US constitution could show you how Bush is not a true American in spirit(he is in body), he is a true mercantilist, but American, not really, I know communists that are more Americans then him! That been said, he is not all evil and some actions are good. But crushing the basic peoples of any country is a crime against humanity and the fact I simply state it and will never do anything about it make it guilty in a way, but so many more guilty folks then me that it would be a waste to focus on peoples like me.
You confuse *angry* and *arguing*, but again, the red scare and the McArthist are well known in the US. I recall a US Senator saying this(in orders words althought, I read it in french): "If I like apple pie and I see no reason to stop eating apple pie, but it is judged to be a communist action to eat apple pie, I will stop eating apple pie''.
Many peoples get angry when you argue(especially when they are involved), and many others think you are angry when you argue, especially on the net where you dont see facial features. Except when it come to *raiding*, I am rarely angry in any arguing(I meet to many *dumb and anrgy pro-raiding arguments* and I am to directly involved in my pastime to remain cool and neutral on this topic after an introduction, many other more importants issues have left me neutral and cool, but I guess I am emotially linked to my past time, thereby why I react badly there, but again, I am human). I understand peoples that get angry when they *have a major drawback* at stake althought...
No doubt my post would be deleted or the tread will be locked, anyway, it need to be move in off topic at least.

ok. I'm going to generalize. Geeks/Nerds don't seem angry really, but more so egotistical? or stuck-up? If you see a nerd that has no friends then your best bet would be that he/she is egotistical (or I would assume).
p.s. I'm somewhat of a nerd, but certainly not a jock. despite the fact I dislike computers... I'm moreso one of those people who "tra-la-la's" all day long and some how things work out in the end.

Hehe, I had a little chuckle when I read the first post, then I had a really good laugh at some of the responses. But, just to support my optomistic views, I have to believe that many of the "angry geek" responses were also done in jest. If not, don't tell me, I would like to continue living in my own little world where no one would fall for the prodding from that first post.

So Zide are you saying that carnival performers or wild people who do very unusual and freakish acts are mad, angry people who don't have any religious beliefs and don't like our current President of the United States?
Are you saying that anyone who is intelligent in their field and may be found boring to others are mad, angry people, and they don't have any religious beliefs or like our current President of the United States?

First of all your generalizing. Geeks are not all angry and the ones who are probably have issues. Secondly, angry people are found all over the world, whether they are jocks, nerds, freaks, losers, etc...and they all have their reasons to be angry.
btw, I married a geek (dekron) and he is not an angry person at all! He simply defends his position and moves on...
