I'm torn between either Silkroad Online and Hero Online, and I'd just like to know people's opinions about Hero Online. I played Silkroad Online til about level 15, and I have to say that it was pretty bland and confusing. Especially since you have to read a guide in order to get the most out of your skills (Since you had a limited amount of skill points you could use) and my character was screwed up for that...
Well, anyway, I was just wondering about 3 things about this game:
*Is the community more together than Silkroad
*Is the grind worse/better than Silkroad
*Are the quests more thought out than Silkroad (IE: Actual stories instead of "Me need 40 of these enemies dead. I reward you with gold, experience and skill points if you kill them).
OH, and one more thing: How's the translation? From the F2P games I've played (Maple Story, Thang Global, Silkroad, and Flyff) I have to say that translations from some of these games are pretty horrible...
I looked through the reviews already and the game seems interesting enough, but I'd like some opinons from people before I download the game
Oh, and just so you know, this is a battle for life or death here, because I can only have 1 game (too much space taken up on my HD from my bro's games) and seeing as how the no-title-intro version of the game is 1/2 the size of Silkroad, I'm already starting to like it

I joined one of the newer servers so I'm going to say I can't honestly give you a good idea on how the community is for the game itself, but as for the official forum, there are GM lead topics and they do seem to respond. I have seen no problem in the slightest at all with the translation. The spam is limited a little bit in this game since you have to use 100 chi to shout, which at level 12 and about 20 intelligence, I'm just now, slgihtly over 100 chi.
I have played a little of SRO also, but, the initial grind seemed worse at level 5. At level one of Hero, I was able to level up (once I realized that I was in peace mode) in about 3 or 4 minutes.
With regards to quests, yeah... you have that delivery boy element where all you do is kill x amount of stuff. But at later levels, you start getting other quests that actually deal with the story line. So yeah, story is integrated pretty well with the story/legend quests.
Heres one note on Hero online, I love the game its fun easy to get into and it really keeps you interested in continuing the grind with fun events pet lvling weapon upgrading at the blacksmith etc, but...
if you have a nvidia card get ready to reload the drivers on a fairly regualar basis. I thought it was just me but i checked around and others are having the same problems. Someone told me to set the graphics down but honestly I'm running a 7800gt and it runs fine until I shut down my machine and try to play the next day. I reload the graphics drivers and poof problem solved but still a issue imo.
If they fix the issues with nvidia cards this game would be even better and I already rated it a 8.0 when I did my rating on here. Even with that issue if you like the diablo 2 type of game this game is a no brainer and by far imo the best free game out there.
To comment on others statements yeah I would have to say the staff is another of the big benefits of the game, always events going on getting help is pretty easy, community is a question mark at this point for me I can't say its good or bad either way. The reason I say this is you can solo from what I can tell for the entire game if you choose. The reason is that each class kinda plays like a tank, which is good and bad, the group dynamic at low lvls(I'm lvl 20 currently) is a bit off its like soloing with a big group, no reason to focus in on same enemy really.
Despite that its still a great game and really you can't go wrong with either since they're free and both fun.
Peace
You people cant tell Silkroad is stupid, Silkroad is booring as I see u were only 15 lvl I was lvl 70 highest posible lvl and also restart and i was 64 lvl again so Silkroad isnt STUPID or booring.
Maybe leveling is booring but in evry mmorpg is booring.
I hope Hero will be a lot of fun as it in Silkroad.

Curt teh Juggler: our graduation ceremony was today, and right when some gamer nerd got his diploma, someone in the audience played the zelda "get item" music and he did the zelda spin-hold-out-item stance
Curt teh Juggler: it was quite possibly the most amazing thing ever.
but yeah, i prefer silkroad online more than hero online
1- since iam a solo kind of player i didn't care about the community in hero online so i can't answer that , but i played in many servers in silkroad and i can tell u that the community in silkroad sux
2- the grind is way better , way funnier and faster in hero . also all jobs in hero have area damage skills at low lvls ... which offers fast grinding most of the lvls
3- yes hero have HUGE accual stories not just grinding stories
4- as far as i remember the translation was allright in hero ..
but i stil prefere silkroad a little bit cuz it got alot better character customization options while in hero every1 is clone of the other , also hero have 1 set of armors while sro have 3 deffernt kinds of armors ..
