Where is the Endgame?

Anyone have a suggestion for a game to play that has someting to do after you Max? I'm looking for a game that has a "Afterlife". Raids are beyond boring when all I get from it is a fancy new custome to wear around town. Something like maybe DAoC pre Mythic Nerfisaster. Lots of upcoming games look interesting but is there anything out now that someone is actually playing? AND DONT SAY WoW. I cant do 15 more lvls after wasting 2 yrs...

Well, you know, theres generally two choices. Either PVE or PVP. Or to do something like crafting.

If it's PVE, then you want a game which will provide content at a faster lvl than you consume it, which is probably rather difficult. A game like maybe DDO could do that, but I doubt theres that much content to keep you going. Maybe EQ2, or if you want to stick with in Vanguard. (but I'd wait 6months to see what happens there).

If you want PVP, then a game like EVE could be good. Open ended. No lvl's as such. In the future both AOC and WAR could be great PVP games.

The only two I can think of are UO and EVE, one is fantasy the other is space based. They are the only ones I play, but beware, they both have looting in PVP. So if your horrified at the thought of losing your gear, you better stick with EQ/WOW style games.

Yes, usually only the two choices of either PVE or PVP. Some games offer things like crafting, economy/marketing, and housing, but a lot of them are just horrible or are boring. EVE Online has an open-endedness (or whatever) to it that seems like what you'd want...has plenty to do at the 'endgame' if you are into PVP/Crafting/Marketing. Beyond that, not many games have anything but mindless PVP or PVE Raiding at endgame.

I agree, many Fantasy based US titles simply have horrible end-game solutions.  The only real solution that is good is PVP, PVE just can't cut it.

Definitely try Lineage 2: Endgame has castle seiging, raids that take a lot more people, guild wars, subclassing, new territories at the endgame, and small things as well like trying to get high enchanted items for fun . But getting to endgame make take a while...
