If I had the extra change, I would go lifetime as well.

    who me ?

I'm going for it, could be 8-bit CGA gfx with Mario as Frodo and Luigi as Sam. It'd still be Lord of the Rings, which equals "holy" ^^

Lifetimer here and i can't wait to sit and laugh at all the trolls in a year when my lifetime has paid itself back compared to the standard price of a normal mmorpg and the game is even bigger and stronger than now and i will be playing for free for the rest of it's lifetime.

    In your face trolls.

    Fine, I'll bite.

Went with the advice from someone here on forums and tried the game (for like 1 hour).

Result: Turbine would have to pay me to make me play the LOTRO.

At least the D/L was good, 1.03mb/s from torrent weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Turbine screwed up ddo, but I said hey, let me try this game it might be fun. Got into beta 2 months back. And turbine is offically on my list of companies to not buy their game. Screwing up 2 huge liscences like that? Back 2 back? Whoa, I think I'd rather NGE myself.

If you played for one hour, then you didn't try the game. Hell, I even gave Vanguard a month before quitting.

the endgame. The end game will be hard to reach with

    Lindon

    Enedwaith

    Forodwaith

    Rohan

    Gondor

    Rhovanion   Rhun

    Mordor

    Still in development ...

End game will be the destruction of the ring ? and after that point you will throw your hands up in the air and say "Holy !@#ing S!@# that was an awesome game experience" and you will be ready for another go , or a new mmo.

    who me ?

True.  I played Vanguard for 30 mins.  LOTRO has those starting race type thingy quests.

Both games felt like crap to me, although LOTRO was 1600x1280 resolution with all eye candy on, have to give it props on performance and graphics.  But then I wasnt playing Shadowbane for graphics, or Wolf ET.

the endgame. Uhmm i think i know my MMORPG's.

This will be my 18th MMORPG since UO released back in 1997.

I know i will hit the endgame fairly quickly here in LOTRO with the initial released version but i have faith in Turbine to release regular updates like they did so good in AC I.

    That's why i'm a lifetimer.

I have the patience to wait for it.

My plan is to play LOTRO regulary until AOC release.

Then i will take a look at that and play that until Warhammer release.

Then i plan to have Warhammer as my PVP game and then i have LOTRO as a lifetime PvE casual game.

    I know what i'm doing.

    Do you?

I went into the beta honestly not expecting very much because of my past experiences with Turbine.

After a few days I seriously have a hard time believing that Turbine is behind this game because its fun and it works.

The wife even checked it out and she got hooked as well. We're playing a Guardian/Hunter combo. We've pre-ordered and looking forward to release.

I may or may not.  I may buy it just to milk out time for Age Of Conan.

People have to getting scared now, since AoC is their last chance at any satisfaction for this year

Finding something now might soften the load if AoC some how (I don't really see how though) flops.

I have more confidence in Warhammer than i have in AOC.

Mythic has a lot more experience with PvP compared to Funcom.

Played both AO and all expansions Plus DAOC and all expansions for quite some time and overall DAOC was a lot more fun when it came to the PvP department.

I'm going to try out both no matter what.

From what I hear, EVERYONE will be able to do that, not only "hardcores"... Btw, I doubt you have to play 17 MMORPGs before you can do well in LOTRO

I like the game...  i'll buying it

just debating 9.99 or 199 but most definetly going live
  • psyconiuspsyconius Member Posts: 272
I'd consider going lifetime if I had the cash to burn.

I also know that, generally speaking, I have a rather short attention span =P

I am preordering and taking advantage of the $9.99/month as long as I can, though.. (I am prone to miss a month for financial problems and then I am screwed.. but will milk it while I can). This certainly has captured my attention better than anything since beta DAoC :)

This game has grown on me quite a bit......sub for sure...not sure about the lifetime yet.

Mario as Frodo and Luigi as Sam....lol

  • M1sf1tM1sf1t Member UncommonPosts: 1,583

Yes going live on Brandywine. I am completely disinterested in WoW and EQ2. Vangaurd was the biggest pile of dog poo ever made and other games are just mindless grinds. I've tried sand box games like EvE and it was just not for me as I like being a bit more engaged in the world an having things like solid quests and a large looming background story that hooks me into a game.

That being said I am debating the lifetime subscription because I know am going to be playing WAR when it comes out so who knows. It might be good as a backup for breaks in between WAR etc.

Games I've played/tried out:WAR, LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, AoC, EQ1, EQ2, WoW, Vangaurd, FFXI, D&DO, Lineage 2, Saga Of Ryzom, EvE Online, DAoC, Guild Wars,Star Wars Galaxies, Hell Gate London, Auto Assault, Grando Espada ( AKA SoTNW ), Archlord, CoV/H, Star Trek Online, APB, Champions Online, FFXIV, Rift Online, GW2.

    Game(s) I Am Currently Playing:

    GW2 (+LoL and BF3)
