I just want to update you all with some recent features and updates, I'll make it as short as possible:
- Much improved interface - fully customizable and a lot more intuitive than previously
- More and better working animals - players now encounter these from time to time, tracking works and there's even been organized hunt. A lot of unwary players have also falling victims to ferocious bears and wolves.
- Improved server stability, less lag etc.
- Many minor bugs and issues solved
- Many new interesting items, hadcarts, tents, skinning tools, shields etc.
- Held equipment is now selectable/targettable as with body parts - so shield size is now more relevant
- Successfully attacking a combatant's weapon may disarm them
- Nutrition - different foods give temporary long-term bonuses to different skills, hunger and thrist doesn't work like before either
- Ground effects - best update so far! There are very many different types of grass, shrubs, plants, flowers etc. covering the ground depending on landscape type. It's wonderfully cozy just to walk in a wild forest outside a celtic village in the early morning just taking part of the beauty.
And much much more!
It seems this game might finally really be worth investing some serious time into (even if I enjoyed it long before all these updates. And here's some mixed screenshots with the new ground effects, too bad I forgot to add in some of torch effects.
That guy's crazy, I think he usually guards some silly mountain (when he coul've been killing Romans!).
Me at the edge of a celtic village in the middle of a forest, the screen really doesn't make this scene justice.
Me at the riverbank.
Early morning in the forest.
Me standing in a thick matt of grass.
Other screens not taken by me.

Have they add all the professions yet? Specially the crafting ones?
How Far from complete do you think they are? , Last I heard it was missing a lot of the content, such as Big houses, Player cities , Some Items etc....
How's the population? Is it hard to get in a good guild? Would I have fun playing it casual?
I am an ex-Swg-precu Player, and haven't been able to find any decent game out, That gives me the same feeling that swg had, for sometime I tough that RV was going to be it, But after the bad start, I didn't want to invest money on it hehe.
We got bigger houses now, but I don't think stone houses are buildable yet (should not be hard to add though, since we allready have a limestone quarry).
Population is low, but currently increasing, lots of old timers coming back now with the new updates and many new players.
If you're a mature player you can basically get into any guild so far, but it might get harder in the future. Sure, there's many casual players in RV, perhaps you shouldn't set your goals to be the ultimate warrior or something like that, just keep it at your level and you'll do fine.
I can't say if it's the same feeling like in swg (barely played it), but it got its own feeling, hopefully you'll like it.
Thats not saying much.
At any rate, the playerbase needs to increase before the game will be even 5% playable. More players=More carnage=More fun.
Furthermore, there are still a SLEW of bugs that need to be worked out, particularly with the animal system and tracking bugs.
...And of course, theres the small problem with hardly anyone roleplaying on what should be an RP-Enforced game...

Have you even played it recently Kruniac? It's a lot more than 5% playable, considering I and a lot players enjoyed it even before all this. It's 100% playable, unless your computer can't handle the game.
There's not many if any bugs with tracking, it just needed some balancing (which has been done allready).
There's more players RPing now than before at least, probably the highest concentration in any mmorpg that's rather new.
An associate of mine in game spent some long days and mastered animal handling which was quickly fixed in a mid week patch after flaws were found. Seems to work great now. Tracking seems to be working fine as well and is becoming a very useful tool for hunters to find game.
lag is a little bad right now, specially in Corst.
Too bad Vanguard is coming out next week. Or else i might thave given this a try
I'm enjoying myself in Vanguard
Is Treatment in yet in all (or any) of its glory?
It's the one thing I was looking forward to and the main role I wanted to play (Tribe healer).
Things are definitely looking up for the game.

Oh. My. God.
It looks alot better. I still don't like the lighting though. It is something which makes me stop from buying it. Oh that I'm afraid of the timesinks. I'll just wait for another update :P
Okee, If the sunny days are really sunny I might change my mind.
