Hiya peeps, I haven't posted in a while so thought I would jump in and say hi. I'm very glad to see that SOE and SWG bashing are still alive and well. People should never be aloud to forget what SOE did to this game and it's community. It doesn't matter how SOE tries to rectify the situation, or what rehashed features they add to the game, or how many times they try to explain that the NGE was what was best for the game from a buissness stand point. What SOE has never and will never understand is that Star Wars is not their property, it is not George Lucas's property anymore either(well legally it it, but thats not what i'm talking about). Star Wars belongs to us now, the fans. By continuing to pay and play games like SWG we send a message to future game developers that we will shell out our money for anything with the Star Wars name on it. We control how the Star Wars IP is handled through our wallets my friends and thats the best place to hit SOE and send a warning out to all others who handle our childhoods in a legally retarded like way.

Making millions of these theads isnt gonna make them back to the way you like it. becuase if they do. the people who like the NGE but hated the old swg would stop playing.I cleary would stop if it went back to old SWG. Because I didnt like the old SWG my self.
The best thing you can do is just wait for the SWG emulators to get done and play on those. And let the people who enjoy the NGE play if they enjoy the game.
If I like the game I gonna pay to play it reguardless of what people think, or if the game was boring to me at first then did something like the NGE and made me like the game Then I am gonna play.
The job system doesnt bother me. In my opinion its better. I dont have to work on raising pistols then rasing carbine and what not. I raised carbins thinking i will move up to commado. Why should i raise something I would never use. thats what i hated about the old job system. Since there was no lvs and i had to raise all of the weapons types to become a commando I stop playing.
It bored me to start at the first lv of the next weapon and work on that just to be a commando and i though that was just silly. The NGE made it so I dont have to worry about raising each weapon to be a commando to its highest to switch over.
as for the jedis. You dont instanty get a light saber in the NGE your just a brawler until you get your powers and weapons.
Also I seen alot of people here bashing those who do enjoy the changes. it isnt gonna hurt you if they do. you just making your self inmature. why insult people who have diffent views on the changes. It just a game there other games that will come out. just move on to another game and stop complaing ,bashing the players who enjoy the game.
I even seen some vets coming back and enjoying the game.
But if you want the old SWG back just wait for those EMulators for it and then start playing on those servers when they exist. and stop attacking peoples becuase of the diffents.
I do enjoy the game now then I did I like the change I not gonna change my view no matter the ammount of insults come may way or whatever. I like the new combat system I hated the old combat system.
Why should the vets, the players who beta tested and were there when the servers opened have thier game taken away so you can get your NGE suckfest? We were there first, it was our game, not this NGE piece of shit.
I'm glad you like playing a crappy game at the expense of all of us vets who lost the game we loved, maybe you should be in game instead of on a vetrans forum, enjoying your oh-so-awsome NGE.
I also have to agree with other "angry vets," why should we be quiet about SWG/SOE when it was our years of dedication and subscriptions that built the game you enjoy and we do not? Why should we say, "hey NGE'ers, sure we subsidized your game, sure SOE did not give us a refund nor a Pre-NGE server, but we are happy for you"?
We are bitter, people have connections to their characters no matter how many times people say "it's just a game." When the NGE happened, our characters were destroyed, our world was destroyed. I'm sorry but I can not forgive and forget, especially since they are not asking for forgiveness.
--When you resubscribe to SWG, an 18 yearold Stripper finds Jesus, gives up stripping, and moves with a rolex reverend to Hawaii.

--CCP could cut off an Eve player's fun bits, and that player would say that it was good CCP did that.
There were a lot more players that preferred the more complex and immersive game known to vets as the PreNGE version of SWG (PreCU to even be more accurate). The loss of 200k+ players makes that statement loud and clear, and all the denial in the world will not change it.
I accpet that the new target audience needed a much more simplified game. I accept that there are SWG fans that despise the NGE, but cannot give up on a SWG game. I also accept that there are Station Access players that occassionally play SWG. I know that $OE has to live with the reality that they lost millions of dollars worth of subscriptions that they NEVER will recover and continues to look the other way. It still amazes me (and delights me) that the very thing that $OE developed (NGE) to leech off the WoW player base is the very thing that actually caused WoW to gain thousands, upon thousands, of subscriptions.

Agreed ,one of the best games ever created is dead and its a shame that it was replaced by WoW and other MMOs.
SOE only hope now is the DC universe unitl then they are going to have to survive with EQ1 and 2 as well as their sub contracted services to other gaming companies, IMHO, anything else inculding the trading card games does not have the appeal That SWG did.

Some in here ..like me .. like the way SWG is now AND played from the start....maybe you and most of your pre-nge boys could take that into account ....but hell play the fanboy card on me like usuall...
And a small edit....you guys live on a dream.Yes for most pre-nge was a lot better and i am not trying to convince you if that is the case or not.Unlike most in the vet i think everyone to it's own should tell if the game is for their own taste or not no one else can.But you guys are making the game better and better in your minds and on these forums ...and it is exceeding what it ever was.In a year you lot will still be here and the game by then will have reached god mode.Swg was a good game and for some still is....but don't make it better then it ever was caus it surely wasn't the hardcore thing most pretend it was.NGE made the game easier but if you call pre-nge hardcore then i doubt if you played more mmorpgs then SWG alone.
I know, lmao. It's like SOE said to themselves "Ya know let's make almost every mistake we made with SWG on Vangaurd, because it worked out so well for us the first time around." I don't understand the people that come into the Veterans refuge and post about how we live on a dream, and the NGE is here to stay, and how we should just forget about it already. Screw you guys, we will continue to trash SOE, SWG, and the current SWG community, because every day that game is still live says it's ok for SOE to do what they did. If you enjoy the NGE fine go sing it's praises in the official forums.

As for the battle, rage on.
On a personal note, having vowed never to return to any SOE games and a brief 5 month run in Eve, I've found my new game of choice and thankfully it's not SOE related, nor cheating CCP for that matter. Not another penny will either get from me, ever.
That, my friends, is consumer choice and market forces at work.
