World of Warcraft: Blizzard Announces BlizzCon 2007

Blizzard Entertainment announces BlizzCon 2007. Get your best Tauren costume ready and book that flight to California!


A year and a half ago, Blizzard hosted the first "BlizzCon," a convention celebrating the Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo game universes and the amazing community of players who contribute to their continued popularity. Today, Blizzard announced that BlizzCon will once again open its doors on August 3, 2007.

Highlights for this year's BlizzCon will include:

* Discussion panels with Blizzard game developers;
* Competitive and casual tournaments, including a World of Warcraft TCG tournament;
* Costume, machinima, and character sound-alike contests with great prizes;
* Live orchestral performances of music from Blizzard games;
* And many more exciting activities to be announced soon at www.blizzcon.com!

    Ahh, a good excuse to drive to Anahiem again. The last Blizzcon was pretty awesome, and I figure this one will be even better as Blizzard will have the few small problems from the last con all figured out now.

    Ever seen those videos from last blizzcon with the guy dressed out as a murloc who started the "Save The Murlocs" campaign?

    Murloc-Guy is yelling all over the standing room:

    Murloc: In Tirisfall Glades there is a quest tht involves killing baby murlocs! Why so much murloc hatred in WoW and what do you intend to do against this kind of racism?!

    Metzen: Nothing! For every murloc that dies in a quest, i grow stronger in power!

    I hope we will host an european version of Blizcon someday. NA gets blizcon, Asia gets a load of tournaments and we at europe are pretty much screwed. There are over 1,5 million European WoW players, surely a similar event must be possible.

    Only if i have sufficient savings, i wouldnt mind the long flight and attend the blizzcon with jet lag.. wee~

    All canceled. Waiting on Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning.
