i remember the last time i won something from here(RYL BETA) it took 2-3 days to send me urls and cd -key, so just be patient and it'll come, im sure... or just hope it comes?

you can play for 7 days free trial so I assume you could use the trial before applying your key for 3 months play. That should give you a fix while you wait

Nah, I live in the U.S., but I'm thinking about buying the game, and then seeing if I can add my 3 months that I won on top of what else you get for buying the game. It would be really time effective

We are not directly issuing the prizes...Artifact and Game Network are doing that. We have sent the lists of winners off...but as you know it is a weekend so I doubt they have even been looked at yet.

Please do allow some time for your prizes though...I cannot speak for them, but I assume it will take a couple days to set everything up

Ok, I downloaded the 7 day free trial and the CD key they sent me was wrong. The CD key THEY sent ME was wrong!

If this is what I can expect from this company from the get-go, then I don't want anything to do with them...

Guys don't get too excited... this game is pretty buggy... I've been playing the 7 day trial an I think I have about had it with this game. If this was a beta test I'd just be annoyed but understanding... but I think at some point they are going to ask for money?!?!? ya right... good freaking luck with that endeavor.

The login is really bad...
- You have to actually login twice with your email addy and PW to actually play the game...
- You can't change characters without loggin out...

Zone times are insane and dragon characters are all bugged to hell...
- You have to sit/cancel all actions almost every time you attack

There is so little help/info about this game from the company that markets it, very sad. You have no idea what to train for your class or even really where to train... You can't get training points back once spent. It's not that it's a terrible system (just bad) it's the complete lack of information of what your doing... it's trial and error where there errors can really mess you up after spending all that time leveling...

I'd say scratch Horizons off your list... next?

Looks like the prizes are going to be delayed a bit. The EU people are telling us Monday and the North America team is hinting at early next week.

I will be sending out another mailing today.

It is out of our hands...but I am making sure to stay on top of it for all you winners.

Umm... Is there any update regarding the download URLs and CD-Keys for the competition winners? I got an email the other day (which I replied to, as instructed) and it said they would send the prizes out Monday 24th... ::::31::

But then again, like others have said, the waiting gives me time to do other stuff - like revision. Ugh.

Keep it. Not interested This games gonna die a painful, not so slow death I'd say if your going to promote a contest like you should get the CD-KEYS ahead of time... Congratulations you win, here's your key... This is just showing me that EU is not a company that thinks of their customers. OMG it's sony 2-3 years ago... This doesn't look so hot for mmorpg.com either...

Perhaps you don't understand Ziggen. We NEVER get the CD-Keys....EVER.

Almost all game companies insist on issuing out the prizes themselves.

Oh well, we get to deal with people like youself every contest we have - I am getting pretty used to it by now.

Not at all totally...I expect people to inquire about their prizes - and that is why we took the effor to send out various updates to the winners.

As always, we are doing the best we can and working with the sponsor to get the prizes out as fast as possible. I think the "industry standard" for prizes is 4-6 weeks...and we will not be anywhere near that I assure you

ROFL. I didn't think I'd get attitude from an admin here. Dude maybe if your dealing with people like me every contest you should like... FIX IT? Provide more info... learn from your mistatkes... Tell your clients, and we are your clients what to expect and make it clear and concice. Crap like you wrote above is un-acceptable and sooo totally negative... I'm not saying I'm a whole lot better but the customer is #1 and is always right. Learn that, live that, it's the only way to do business right

There is nothing to fix. It may take a couple weeks to get your prize...and in the event of beta accounts the prize will not be issued until the beta is underway. The winners just have to accept this - we are talking about free goods...so why complain about when/how they arrive?

When we are the ones issuing the prizes (like copies of games or hardware) the prizes go out within days.

I think if you look at contests anywhere you will normally see 4-6 weeks or 4-8 weeks being the time frame to get your goods...be thankful we don't make you wait that long

I apologize if I was a bit harsh in my first post - but I thought I did a pretty good job of contacting the winners with every update that I received from Game Networks and Artifact. From this point forward we will indicate that non-beta prizes will be up to 6 weeks before you see them...that way there is less hassle on this end and I will have much less rushing around to do. It seems every contest we have a few winners who think everything should just happen instantly, and that is not the way the world works.

I think the mmorpg.com staff did keep us informed very well, I think we received 2 status updates from them on the competition which is great. There's nothing wrong with people posting questions like "did anyone receive their key yet" that's fine, but when you go and point fingers at the staff here then I think it just shows a lack of appreciation of the process involved.

Ziggen, you just need to chill out a bit, as the staff pointed out, it's a freebie, I dont think any of us have place to complain about that, and especially not to have a pop at the staff here at mmorpg when I do believe they kept us well informed both by email and posts in the forum (what do you expect them to do, come around to your house and appologise in person just to you?).

I got my CD key this morning, so hopefully all the other EU winners have as well, and hopefully the US winners will get their shortly, so please jsut be patient (it is a virtue you know ).

Perhaps mmorpg should have a tick-box and disclaimer at the bottom of the screen now saying "I promise not to be a jerk and hassle the mmorpg.com staff if my prize doesnt arrive within a day of me winning the competition :P"

Heheh, I received my email last night, and rushed to sign up, entered the details into the form, and submitted. Dang problem, the server seems to cut out, and after a couple of minutes, my browser gets bored and just stops. Dang, well, I guess I'll have to email Horizons support 'bout this one. Anyone else had problems signing up?

I signed up and created an account this morning without any problems, i couldnt create a character on the website though, but i just put that down to their servers being down. I've still got 6+ hours to go on my download of the client so hopefully they will come back up long before then.

Like you, I cannot create a new character either, but I have also been unable to find the download url for the client, and I'd like to get a bit of a start on downloading it (cos it sounds like its gonna take one helluva long time) Can you pass on where you found yours?

When I say "FIX IT" I dont mean to fix anything about getting us the keys... you explained that clearly about you guys not getting the keys ect. That was sufficient for me. But if you have to deal with "People like me" misundersanding things maybe try and offer more explination up front of how the contest is going to work ect Set the expectation...

You did an awesome job at contact and providing up to date information on how things were progressing. I suppose most of the winners expected keys pretty quickly... Most of us downloaded the 7 day trial the day we won and figured hey, that should carry us over to get the keys... Ever read the book Free, Perfect & Now? It's a great read about customer service... Let's be realistic here... If it takes 6-8 weeks to get a key emailed out to people there are some serious problems... I could order the game and have it delivered in a few days.

My apologies for dragging this out so long... Especially when I don't plan to actually play this game at all. your 1st comment got me nice and fired up for a good debate Me and my friends have already removed our trials and have decided to wait for a decent game to be released by a company that has some experience. I'm sure Horizons will one day evolve into a decent game, it's just not for us.
