Your best bet is to go into the videos section for AOC on mmorpg.com and look at the latest developer diary's. That should give you a nice insight.

Btw, I agree about WAR. It was looking good but the more info comes out about it the more I realise how much better AOC is looking. Although what they look like half a year before release is not really that important.

I just hope they don't delay AOC anymore, especially if I don't manage to get into beta

There was only 2 min of video of 2 zones. My main concern is the game engine, think the rest is under control.

Well since a AOC DEVELOPER said that, it MUST be true....

Personally I would like to see some more ingame vids or maybe see another beta leak so I can judge for myself instead of being fed some bias developers opinion.

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith

Oblivion is just a single player game that requires alot of resourses.Has it been tested in say 40v40 type of action?

I believe (and hope) that they mean that it runs within reason along the lines of how efficiently Oblivion runs when you meet its requirements. One would assume that they wouldn't be making claims like that if the thing crashes to desktop every time more than two players pop up.

Yes yes yes, we all know your concerns about the sliding pictish wonder. It happens in every MMO in existance and is caused by a client ~ server communication problem. Translation: not their fault.

Theres no point in trying to reason with tinybina, Aelfinn. The only way that the game engine can be shown off properly is when NDA finishes from Beta if he doesnt get into it. Or if there was some sort of conference where gameplay footage is showing in real time and video made to satisy tinybina concerns. But i reckon the former there, just goto wait now.

There are definitely video excepts that have been filmed by people other than Funcom...

That one amuses me simply because Gaute asks them jokingly if they are going to edit out things to make it look better, and keeping in mind that it's about 1 year old too.

The GDC vid's from 07 fit the bill as well..

It certainly isnt a ton, but that's 35-40 minutes of video to see what it is, now how it performs in a full scale siege battle, that'll be something I'm sure everyone will want to see.

Well conan is taking alot more gambles than WAR and if they pay out it's gonna be killer,so one such as the pup cannont avoid being a lil worried. We could have a awesome 9 ,or a shadowbane2 6.

Well lets put it this way ,I got run off a WAR forum for even eluding to healing, via rune priest runs.It seems to not be a organized group friendly(leet) player base.More like a back and fourth zergfest between two cities.

Honestly I dont care about revolutionary features in aoc engine,as long as its stable and can handle siege numbers, which in its guild v guild combat wont be to high.

    Thanks for the 411

Fion, I hope you were sitting, and did't faint and get hurt when I unvieled that latebreaking,WAR info.
