First post here, so be kind 
A little about myself... Played UO back in 97', was loyal to it for a solid 3 years, back when it was still a fun game. Played Anarchy Online for a bit, the realized that I'm not a fan of levelling in that way, seems to mechanical.
Right now, I'm looking forward to GuildWars and Middle Earth Online. Beyond that, I am looking for an MMORPG set in the Wild West, does anyone know of anything like that on the horizon?
Also, I'm not quite sure how to phrase it, but are there any games out currently, or in development, that have a skill system similar to UO?

First of all, welcome aboard!
As for Wild West sims on the horizon, there are 2 that I know of, both quite a ways off tho since they're still in the very early development stages:
