What is KOTOR???

in SWG Veteran Refuge

lol what is KOTOR i hear alot about it i was just wondering cuz i also heard bioware is making KOTOR and what doesnt it have to od with SWG.

    Knights of the Old Republic.



    Several video games have been made about the era, and well all around amazing time in the Star Wars Universe.



    Can't go wrong with games pertaining to the true Sith as well. Quite a few extended universe books also exist about the time period.

    It was a RPG developed by Bioware set way before episode 1..A great Game if you like Star wars and a deep game, a tad dated in the graphics but a really good story..One of the best story lines to come outa the Star Wars universe IMO..

    Knights of the Old Republic,



    it's a great RPG for xbox and PC, the 1st, was made by Bioware



    the 2nd, obsidian



    that's why I doubt the rumors that BioWare is making another game in that timeline, or at all with LA for some time at least....

    I prefered KOTOR 1 myself.  I suggest trying that one first before trying 2.  First one had a much better story imo.  However, the second one has some sweet force powers(especially dark powers).  If you are a SW fan I highly suggest buying.  I'm also a big fan of the D20 system.

     I liked the ending of the first KoToR more then the second one. I like both to be honest I think you become a jedi sooner in the second one then first though. Been awhile since I played them so I could be wrong.

    Would not worry about that Obsidian has a lot of links with Bioware.

    Bioware did not have the time to make NWN2 or KOTOR2 as they working hard on other games and recomended Obsidian to make the two games as they have worked with them in the pass. Now Obsidian do have plans on making KOTOR3 if LA let them. They also use biowares game engines so work very closly with bioware making games

    A prime example of this is what has happened in Fallout. The people who owned the IP has now sold it. but they still hold the licse to make a Fallout MMO. Also Obsidian are only a small company and don't have the backing to make a big mmo

    Both KOTOR 1 and 2 are great games and it's a matter of opinon as with any video game. The first game however, was actually included in the Star Wars Official EU on starwars.com, where as KOTOR 2 was not. The characters as well as the plot have been recognized as official history within the Star Wars Expanded Universe. Happy Gaming!
