I understand it's full out pvp -- so are new players gonna get torn apart as soon as they leave the newbie area?

    Its best to join a guild as soon as you leave newbie isle.

     If you want to level alone, just play a character that has tracking. Then you can just use a recall scroll if someone appears on track

    Well wasnt so crappy when i leaved newb island i played in a group and wasnt so bad...but i quited this game...it made me bored after two weeks i played it...

    Its true. You leave newb island, u get owned very often. This is the reason I quitted. It was just annoying and not RPG-like at all.

    However, if somebody kills u, there is a message on main channel: X was killed by Y. So your highlvl guildies can make revenge and get ur items back.

    The leveling in Shadowbane is sooooo fast that you will easily be max level in a week. You can literally gain 10 levels in an hour. You may get ganked alot your first couple of days of playing on the mainland, but you will very shortly be high enough level to defend yourself. Just stick it out through your first few days and you'll be fine.

    Thats pretty true, and its better than Vantard in any case...
