Like the title says I have a fear of zombies. Does anyone know what I can do to help get over it. Before anyone says anything I know they are not real but when I try to sleep after seeing something zombie related anytime during that day I just keep seeing it. Does anyone know how I can get over my fear of zombies because I really want to play dead rising. Only serious answers but if you want to joke about it post a serious answer then joke. thanks

First you didn't want me to get a horse. Now you want me to take it back!!!
just kiddin, wanted to give you chills ^^
In the end though, you still get scared, there's nothing you can do about that, you should only be worried if you let that fear control what you do in your life.
Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place.
Right, stop quaking in fear. Use that fear to arm yourself against them. Most importantly, get informed.
Get yourself this book.
It won't help you overcome your fear, but at least you will be prepared when they start banging on your door.
PS: BRAINSSS!!

I wasn't trying to be mean, i was just making a joke but anyway, your 100% correct. I do the same thing when I see something scary during the day but the problem is it seems like america is obssed with zombies. I seem to see zombie references all the time. Whether it be a commercial (had to stop watching certain station untill the dead rising commercials went away) or a reference. I have a few ideas so could you tell me if these will work?
Oh forgot to mention this.
Never, but never, should you ever go on holiday/vacation to Haiti.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
The really ironic thing about phobias is: Why is the fear of long words, Hippomonstrousquippidilliaphopia (sp) Seriously.

RISING DRAGOON ~AION US ONLINE LEGION for Elyos
For those fears that creep up when you are trying to sleep, I recommend some form of focused, guided meditation to get you calm and asleep while keeping your brain too busy to think about the living dead.
Someone else already suggested The Zombie Survival Guide, so I guess I will have to suggest something else. Just keep reminding yourself that zombies are slow and clumsy, while you are not... Unless you are, in which case, you should remind yourself that you have a fully functioning brain, and all zombies have is an insatiable hunger for human flesh. You should be able to outsmart them.
Honestly, I have had a few unreasonable fears in my time, and I've never fully gotten over them. I used to be terrified of using the phone. I would get in the car and drive 10 miles to ask a question at a store, or go order pizza and wait for it rather than calling for delivery. I still feel really uncomfortable using the phone, but the only way I got to the point that I could take care of the normal things in life that people use the phone for was to force myself to do it. When I first started making calls like ordering pizza, I'd have someone come stand on my foot-- the distraction helped against the fear and also, it kept me from running away. (Laugh if you want, it's true.) The more I did it, the easier it got. I still hate the phone, but I can make the calls I need to.
What does all that have to do with zombies? Maybe the only way to overcome fear is to go through it, even if you need a little help from your friends. Maybe you should consider having someone else sit with you if you want to try playing zombie games, or maybe you should get a group of friends together for a zombie movie marathon, keeping the mood light and festive.
Or you could just avoid zombies. Play other games, watch other movies. You can almost completely avoid zombies if you try. Remember, they are stupid, slow, and clumsy.

Anyways, to get back on topic, the only way to cure a fear is to face it. If you don't face it, you'll be hiding most your life. What you need to do, is to watch zombie movies (Night of the dead, dawn of the dead, land of the dead, 28 days later and so on) and play zombie games. Resident Evil is of course a classic here. Another one you should try is Land of The Dead : Road to fiddlers green. It's pretty bad(somewhat boring map design, piss poor hit detection, few features), but it's really easy and there's a lot of zombies to kill. In the end, you'll feel like you're getting good at taking them down, and you'll probably not be afraid of them.
If it gets too scary(only game I've ever tried that creeped me out so much I thought I didn't really wanna go on in a certain area is Condemned), convince yourself you're a badass and you can splatter their heads on walls... in other words, try to enjoy killing them. Become maleviolent about it.
That's my 2 cents
Haiti is where the real zombies live. Not your actual risen dead, but a method of controlling a living person through certain drugs/poisons. It's where the bulk of the zombie legends were born.
Go google Zombies and Haiti, it's an interesting read. Theres a huge amount of myth and superstition, but there is also a very real scientific basis to the compounds found to have been administered to people in order to reduce them to a Zombie like state, and therefore be 'commanded' by the person who drugged them.
And anyone, before you gp 'pah, nonsense!', go research it. Like i said, it's pretty fascinating.

I just looked it up becouse i had nothing better to do and thats some wierd ass stuff.
As mentioned, if you want a crappy zombie game, go for Land of the Dead Road to fiddlers Green, it should be available to Xbox and PC. Want to give you a few hints:
The hitboxes are messed up. You can shoot a zombie in the arm and it's head blows up.
The crosshairs doesn't always fit. AFAIK, you aim with the left part of the circle with the shotgun.
Most zombies are pretty slow, and actually pretty weak. The best way to avoid them is keep moving. If you do that, chances are that they won't hit you when they are close.
There are a bugs, and I think one of them causes some crippling zombies to suddently crawl to you very VERY fast and almost sorta jump in your face. This might be a bug because the animation doesn't really fit the motion. Embrace yourself when you see them, so you don't get a shock.
Also, just so you don't loose interest by reading this, the game is actually fun even though there is a lot of errors with it.
Happy hunting
There is a very easy way to get over the fear of what goes bump in the night. Go out back and fire off a couple of rounds from a 45 Magnum. Even the palest, skinnest, most likely to have sand kicked in your faith, ineffectual nothing behind the business end of a colt 45 becomes and absolute badass.
