I'm getting back into guild wars after a long time. I already have the normal game installed, but i couldn't find faction's at the game store near me, but they did have nightfall. I'm installing nightfall atm but i'm curious, what will i not be able to do with nightfall but without factions? anything big or important?

It won't make a huge difference if I'm not mistaken. You won't have access to the Assassin and Ritualist classes and you won't be able to go to the Factions continent. I haven't really bought nightfall but I guess most players should be around the nightfall continent nowadays, so it ain't such a big deal at all.

You'll only be missing the content that came with Factions as well as the professions of Assassin and Ritualist.

And when you say you're installing Nightfall I hope you realize that you're meant to merge it with your Prophecies account. You can, of course, keep them separate, but all you'll have is a NF only account and 4 character slots.

Now I am thinking about getting this so if I just jump to nightfall, what will I miss if I don't get the original game

Well other than the campaign itself not really much. While I still like Prophecies the most for its setting I'd have to say that NF is basically everything that Prophecies was but much better. It definatly shows how much the developers have improved.

There are also some story references between all of the chapters but those are pretty minor and won't affect your gameplay at all.

There's one catch though: If you decide to get Prophecies at a later time then the relatively slow levelling pace (compared to NF) might put you off. Getting my toon to level 20 in NF was a matter of weeks (for powerlevellers a matter of days). In Prophecies however my first toon took close to two months to reach level 20. If that isn't a problem for you then starting with Nightfall is all ok.

Hmmmm... I think you wont lose much , but i will tell good things and bads things in Factions , that you could understand what you will lose :
Bad things :
1. Too fast level-up , way too fast .
2. All game is little boring.
3. Bad for PvE characters . ( bad i mean it is not as good as NF or Prophecies )
4. Storyline is very short .
5. Too short of story, not enough quests, too many noobs.
Good things :
1. Great PvP .
2. Assasins is pretty ( very good in PvP )
3. Ritualists is beter at healing and damge than monks .
4. Alliance Battles is intresting and Fun .
5. Guilds can own Outpost and Citys .
If you dont do PvP much , you can easily dont buy it ^^ .

i just ordered prophecies of is bestbuy canada because i live in a small town and my store only has nigthfall shiould i wait the 10 extra days for factions to come or should i go to the store right when i get phophecies and buy night fall seriously if i'm brand new to the game what one is better and i haven't tried pve or pvp in this game yet plz answer me and if any factions fans are reading this i want your awnest opinion which is best for beginners oh ya btw i have never done pvp before i'm pretty new to mmo's

I think you shouldn't buy NF and Factions . If you are new , Prophecies is perfect too you . In it you will understand what is you callin PvE ( Player versus Environment ) , PvP ( Player versus Player ) or just Farming . Play Prophecies , when you will understand what you want , write it here , than we will tell what should you buy ^^.
