A console for a pc gamer

I am a pc gamer first and formost but I want to get a console. I currently have a Wii because i like nintendos first party exclusives. What I want to know is what console (ps3, xbox 360) do you have and why?

Xbox 360 is just the safer bet right now.

They have a slew of good games out already, as well as a bunch of games coming out over the next few months.
They have a stable online system.
A lot of fun and unique XBLA games.
$200 cheaper.
Overall it will just be a better experience as of right now.

The PS3 may be worth getting sometime next year but as of today I don't see ay reason to pick one up. Even the holiday season is beginning to look a little barren compared to 360 and Wii.

I just got a ps3 two week ago and I love it. There is a really good line up of games for the rest of the year on it and fun online. There are some pretty fun old games you can download too. Honestly though, if you already have a Wii then I would just rent games for it or buy games for your PC. That would be the cheapest. I recommend gamefly for renting.

I would go for a Xbox 360.

Good amount of quality titles out.

So far most games you get on the PS3 too, are better on the Xbox 360.

Good online service.

Awesome lineup of games.

And the games on the Xbox 360 are more western, and resemble pc games more than PS3 games.

One of my main issues with PS3 is the console nature and Asian flare the fronting games seems to have. I really hate those.

You will get more rts, fps and western rpg games for the Xbox 360. Something, I may be wrong, I think fit's a pc gamer better.

Thanks, I think i will get a 360. What do you guys/girls think about getting a psp. I currently have a ds but am bored with it. Pokemon gets old real fast.

Do you like the PS2? If so then you will probably enjoy the PSP.

A lot of the PSPs games are PS2 ports. The ones that are unique to the system have comparable graphics and gameplay. Its a good portable video game machine but its something you really will only use when you are not at home.

I would pick the Xbox360. Now I do have a PSP and currently can't wait till Final Fantasy Tacticts comes out for it. Well PSP is also a multimedia entertainment system. So you can put music, videos, RSS feeds, watch TV on it, and the PSP Camera is comming out in the US soon for it. There is also a good collection of fun games. It's a great device.

I am a little confused as to why you say later on the PS3 would be the definitive console to get. Nobody knows what will happen, for all we know the PS3 next year could very well be just as poor as it is in its current form.

Of those two consoles the 360 is the best one to get right now. This time next year nobody can possibly know which system will be better or if they would even be "tied".

Personally i wasant much impressed witht he PsP. Maybee it was just me but i dont like playstation 2 ports generally as they tend t be bad games. I much prefer my DS [ currently playing Final Fantasy : 3

I love my 360, and i love the fact that I can play online, and download demos, games, movies, TV shows, etc. Haven't tried the PS3, but with the new upgrade to allow you remote access from your PSP, might be interesting to take a look at.

I think both the PS3 and Xbox360 are a good deal. True, the PS3 is 200$ more expensive, but you'll get a console that is stronger then the xbox360. The xbox360 comes with a 20gb hard drive, the PS3 comes with a 60gb hard drive. Another thing to take into consideration is that the PS3 has a blu ray player. So if you have a HD tv and don't have a HD dvd player or Bluray player yet, then its VERY nice add-on.

Another thing to consider is that Xbox live gold (which is required to actually play the games) is 50$ a year. The playstation 3's online service is completely free. So in the long run, if you keep using the online service, Xbox360 is more expensive anyway.

If you want good games, both systems have you covered. Both systems have good games and upcomming games. Xbox360 gets games like Gears of War and Halo 3, Playstation 3 has games like Resistance: Fall of man and Metal gear Solid 4.

I didn't know you had to pay for XBox Live. That kinda stinks.

Consoles last for a few years, so that $50/year alone will make up for the extra $200 eventually.

I'm considering getting one too. Sort of. Even though I mostly don't like consoles. But if I get one I think I'll go with the PS3. It's got more power (from what I've read it's just untapped at this point) and I like the Final Fantasy games a lot.

But I had no idea you had to pay for XBox Live. Bleh!!!
