Pretty good Spyware killer (I know not on topic but read)

There was a post just recently posted that had an url link to a site riddled with viruses and spyware software.

Anyways, if you clicked on this guy's link you just now have 3 different spyware companies logged into your IE explorer.

Anyways, here is a free trail from webroot.  I hope this helps

...or you can get Ad-aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/

They offer a personal version for free of charge.

I use both. A support guy at work told me they each cover different areas of spyware, with some overlapping

windowswasher is another piece of spyware.  It, or something with the same name, used to be a drive-by download from many sites and, if you had your internet security set medium high, you'd get bombarded with "do you want to download" popups.  I wouldn't trust it now simply because of the way it was initially "advertised."

Here are the programs that I use to get rid of unwanted programs running in the background (ie spyware, etc)

    Ad-Aware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
    Spybot Search & Desroy: http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download

Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D work well as a dynamic duo - one will catch something the other one will not.

Another good program would be Spyware Blaster, which installs "kill bits" into your registry to slice spyware by the knees. The best part is that it is a one-use program. Just run it once and it innoculates your computer. The only time you may want to run it again is if you decide to update the signatures database. Innoculation takes only a few seconds for the entire computer.

    Spyware Blaster

By the way I am going to shimmy this thread over to the Off-Topic Discussion board.

Are there any that don't disrupt Kazaa/Morpheus etc? When running AdAware, I do custon and avoid the kazaa folders, but i must miss something because it still deleted the Kazaa adds (which is why its free), and because of this Kazaa wont run. Each time I need to reinstall.
