Transportation within the world of Hyboria

What do you guys know about the different means of transportation besides mounts within the world of Hyboria?

Will there be boats? Mounts? And slow means of getting from one side of the world to the other? Or will there be a lot of teleporting spells and warping like in other mmo’s?

Personally I would like to a greater dependency of realistic means of transportation like mounts, boats, and traveling on foot. No teleporting and warping imo would make the world seem bigger and would force players into situations where questing and traveling required greater planning out and such. Boundaries between kingdoms would also be taking more seriously imo.

But seriously if you know anything about transportation I would love to hear it.

This is my own personal opinion but I expect to see things like Mounts(Horses, etc). Boats? maybe but I really don't know if that would be in the game but then again, what do I know

all i know of as of now is that horses, camels, and mammoths are in (the mammoths are only for PVP, like modern day tanks)

Watching a video, or reading an article I forget, I read that boats will be available.

I forget if those were player controlled/created or just walk up to some captain dude and he drives you to some remote island somewhere.

Hopefully AoC does boats/ferries better than Vanguard

So, still no word on Teleporting/warping  spells? whether they will exist or not?

I hope they are left out personally.

I would have shared your opinion a few months ago, untill i met Vanguard. The huge world of vanguard made me see that no means of teleport  is bad, very bad for the community of a game, if it takes 45 minutes of ingame traveling time before you reach your friends this will chase off all casuall gamers.

I personally wonder how they will put in teleporting in a beleivable way inside the conan universe.

The idea of portals/circles where you have to reach the circle/portal first before you can use it, still holds true. Riftways (portals) made Vanguard a much better game in my opinion. And if it weren't for the bugs(which are slowly disapearing) it would have been a great game.

I would have to agree with ya here, teleportation comes in handy at times. Even if it is a spell that you would have to pay some one for in my opinion it is worth it.

thats because there was no content in Vg and they sent you all over the map with no real good way to get you there i would like to see if  AoC could pull this off because it would make for a better game

It has been said that there will be boats and something like caravans for long distance travel...based on the lore and the feel of the game i doubt there will be teleports and warping.

No classes are getting teleport spells etc. Primary player controlled transportation is by mount. Some long distance travel methods are necessary due to the spread out nature of the world.

There was so much content in Vanguard pre level 30...even at release

    only:

-there where no spoiler sites yet pointing you to the content, so you had to search for the content.

So the same people that where crying they wanted a hardcore game started crying there was no content

    Why?

    -Because some people allways whine.
