Losing posts.

This happens to me quite regularly and can be very annoying.

After writing a reply, (hasnt happened on new topic), I hit "post message" and it takes me directly to forum "roo" without postin anything. Now I can try to hit back and most often what I have written is still there but the problem often persists. After a fe tries to browser eventually forgets what you have written and takes you back to a blank input window. When writing a long post this can be a real bummer as you can imagine, mostly resulting in no or a muc shorter reply.

Anyone else experienced this?

Right. This happened to me many times. Sometime I have to post the same stuff several times before it is accepted and be posted in the forum. Hitting back and reapply the post will not work at all in a such case.
It is quite annoying to rely on a text editor as a buffer for trying to post here. ::::27:: ::::26::

A lot of time your session on the web site will time out while you are typing.

Also, the system uses Server variable to track your location in the forums (a bad idea in my opinion). So, you are in omne forum, but use another browser window to navigate to anothe thread (so you have two windows open reading two different threads), the system does not remember where you are correctly and one of your windows will be an orphan and get lost.

The best thing to do is after typing, just select all the text with the mouse or CTRl-A and copy it to the clipboard. Then if your post doesn't happen, go back to the thread and paste your test back in and hit post again.

Quite funny! Most posting I do are not so big that there would be a time out. Most time I'm still logged on but the posting is going to oblivion.
AFAIK is this bug known to the staff but they can not fix that.

It has nothing to do with timing out. At least not for me. The site logs me out in the middle of posting quite often. I almost never time out. Also the links seem jacked up too. Alot of times I'll click on "General DIscussion" and it takes me into the email page. Or Ill click on any random link and it takes me to any other random link, hit the back button, try link again and take me to the wrong link over and over until I close the site and open it again.

Using a text editor as buffer feels soooo 90's.

I have auto login, I never get booted from site, and if i do i get logged in back again so fast i have never noticed it.
It happens quite a lot now and I refrain from posting long posts, or any posts, unless i feel it is important.

Well well, I guess we shall have to wait until "project-X" Maybe it has technology from the 21th century.

This goes back to how they are tracking where you are in the site. They are using server variables, so when you jump around in the site, it is very easy to confuse the system.

It drives me nuts, because I like to open up all of the threads I am going to read at once in a froum, then go through the windows (tabs in Firefox) one at a time. Can't do that on this site...

Actually they have to go in and purge the server a few times a day, and it logs everyone out. So says admin. Lately its been MUCH more than a few times per day though.

I did quoted a post and was writing some stuff to the quoted post. After hitting Post Message only the quote showed up and my added text got eaten up!
