God the framerate is soooo low i hope it gets fixed for released, although i'll be buying it for the PC. The graphics arn't really impressive and alot of stuff like the textures are pretty bland and really dated and smudged lol.

I dunno what to make of it but i was expecting more.

Thank God they're not making you play an LA type street thug.  Mafia or European Crime families are far more exotic to play than a common convienant store heister.

Yeah, Rockstar has been known for making some under the par graphic style games.  While they're good with game concepts, they need to hire some more talented folks in the art dept.

There isn't currently a PC version announced, or as far as I know, planned.

This may actually never come to the PC.

The GTA series has always appealed to me since I first read about GTA 1. However I was still young then and I didn't get but a handful of games a year, plus I had a PlayStation but never messed with it. As the 2nd and 3rd ones came out and the hype began to grow I really became curious, but I did not have a PS2. Finally Vice City came out and all I could do was read the reviews on it. When VC became available very cheaply for the PC I gave it a go and really found myself liking it a hell of a lot more than I thought I would. When San Andreas was released all I had was a Game Cube so again I was just patient for not only a PC release, but a $30 PC release. SA really hooked me. The replay value for a game like that is truely amazing, more than I have ever experienced with any other single-player game. I am now pretty much hooked and for the first time and looking forward to the next GTA as much as the next fan.

My only worry is whether or not I will enjoy it as much on a console as a PC. I have Crackdown for the Xbox360 and it plays fine for a console so I am not as worried as I would be if it was a FPS or RTS. Personally I found Crackdown to be everything GTA: SA would have been if there was a Superhero cheat for it. However it also killed the replay value in the same way. Driving and shooting in crackdown is no where near as satisfying. Also the world just seems smaller when you can leap from rooftop to rooftop.

I also dig the Russian Main char btw. The first time I saw it I winced a little, thinking it would be harder to relate to him... but now I see it as a bold move and a great way to keep things fresh. Plus I figure I relate as much to a 30 year-old White Russian Immigrant as I do to a 30 year old Italian wannabe Mobster or a 20 something Black Gang-Banger...

    Im the same man...

GTA are the only games that have ever even brought me close to considering buying a console. But I reckon I will wait again for the PC version because it generally tends to be a little superior and a little more polished and the replay and modding options are also greater.

Curse Rockstar for reminding me I can still get very hyped about game releases.

I want to do a Cartman and bury myself in snow for a few months.

I heard rumour that they weren't planning any PC release on this one. I'd be very happy for someone to tell me I've heard wrong...

I remember playing the original GTA on PC waaaaaay back in the day.  Like 15 years ago.

I'm a little disapointed in the character models.

    Wish Darkfall would release.

Well I cant find any info to say it "isnt coming out on PC" but I cant find any to say it is either.

Fortunately this is consistent with all other GTA titles, a few months after the console release they generally announce a PC date, I guess we can only hope this will be the same.

well the fact of the matter is that no PC version has been announced yet, so don't expect one anytime soon.

    About GTA...all I can say is..Meh.

I never really got into those games. Its fun for a while every now and then, just to mess around, but Imo, the gameplay is seriously lacking in all of them. Shooting is lame, fighting is lame, driving is lame. Heck, Super Mario 64 had better combat then all the GTA games. Why not put a shooting/combat system like Resident Evil 4 inside a GTA? that would actually add some depth to the gameplay.

Imo, the game just depends too much on the freedom/sandbox feel of the game, It should pay some more attention to the other part of the game.

Well it certainly shows you how subjective games are, just like movies and music.

Id rate the GTA series as among the best games ever to come out on PC. Every one of them has had me transfixed for hours and I usually play through them at least twice as well as countless hours spent finding things and generally mucking around.

Ill get excited when i see some actual game play footage.  They are just cut scenes, nothing to get worked up over.
