what happens when you hit reset on modem??

    Well it depends on the modem.  If its an old style Baud MoDem then it will reset to its factory settings and you will have to reconfigure it.  If its a modern Cable Modem, most likely it will reset to the default setting set by your ISP.

    iam not sure...but iam buying a new comp so will  my ip change??? everything is gonna be new on it.

    Setting up on a new comp will change your IP in all likelihood, simply resetting, or rebooting your modem should not change your IP.
