Final Fantasy was my favorite mmo. It wasn't one of those easy games. It took time and friends to achieve items and to access other areas. Unlike other mmos, it just takes simple quests without any story to it except "kill X get Y and return to XY" WOW.
FFXI was the best overall with a deep storyline, community, and bond that no other mmos will ever have imho.
This mmo took years to achieve a simple goal such as getting lv 75. It took time to level up, it made you work, and defined the meaning of working together. It wasn't just so you can buy and login and play by yourself like a loner, it made you realize that you and other people around you will change what you do in your journey through Vanadiel.
Planetside. Four years, and I've never unsubbed. Two months off was my longest break.
<- addict
MMO games played or tested: EQ, DAoC, Archlord, Auto Assault, CoH, CoV, EQ2, EVE, Guild Wars, Hellgate: London, Linneage II, LOTRO, MxO, Planetside, SWG, Sword of the New World, Tabula Rasa, Vanguard, WWIIOL, WOW, Age of Conan
i played runescape for thousands of hours before i finnaly realized that i may be getting a bit old for it. Im currently playing EvE online and im loving it. im in a large 0.0 allience and we do 100+ man ops all the time its great. i also play FFXI on and off
I started in EverQuest, way back in the day, it seems. As of now, I was with that one the longest. After all the expansions, all the raids and the characters getting changed into Gumby-looking toons, I finally left after they brought in the Frogloks.
After EverQuest, it was on to DAoC. I really enjoyed the PvP style here. I'm not a huge PvPer, but I loved the battlegrounds in DAoC. I'm afraid they've spoiled me for life
I played The Saga Of Ryzom for quite some time, until they introduced PvP in an area where I spent the majority of my time. I have to admit, this game had some serious pluses in comparison to the other games I had played previously. Stunning graphics, and of course the ability to play every class and have every skill on one character was awesome. Then they took away the American servers, merged with the European servers. Which also meant they took away the American GMs. Which, personally, I was very upset over. I assisted quite a bit with the roleplaying events and had made a good friend with a GM. Windermeer will be missed.
Of course, in between, I've played a few free games and betas.
In 2005, my ex and I decided to try the free trial for World of Warcraft.. and there I am!
Hope you all have a great day, it's very nice to see what everyone has taken part in!
