Pretty desperate on their part but hey, whatever you gotto do right ? Also this offer, is it free for 30 days then you have to pay for the retail package , or free forever with an item mall only ?
Actually, this game is free to play forever, no retail price and no monthy fees from what I have been told. I think they do have some kind of micro-payment system within the game or something like that.

Admin, on the [Archlord] forums, they've been saying that this is only a 14 day free trial, do you know if it's a permanent key or not?

Don't really care. I would only touch this game again if I was paid to do so.
Seriously. After playing for 30 mins until the servers went down, I want a refund of the time I spent downloading it! LOL, what a POS.

It is going to be permanently free, and MMORPG.com is the first place to offer these keys...they will be all over the place this Thursday though, but for the next 24-36 hours we have the exclusive on them.
More on their move to F2P here: http://www.archlordgame.com/freetoplay.php

Haha, awesome! believe it or not but, i was planning on buying this game today...thank god i checked this website before leaving home
And yes, it's a full game key. I just clicked on "add full product key" and entered this code. It updated my trial version into a normal free subscription.
anyway, i think this is one of the best free mmorpg's around. After having played almost all free mmo's (silkroad, 2moons, 9dragons, ryl2, etc etc) i dicided to give this game a shot and downloaded the trail a few days ago. I thought it was probably going to be just another one of those boring grindfests but i turned out to be wrong. The character customization seems to lack a bit when creating a toon for the first time, but there are stylists to be found in the major city's that can change the looks of your char, like hair and faces. The world is prety big and the graphics look very good imo. You can move around by pointing and clicking your mouse or with the wasd keys. Also, the fluidity of control is pretty good. Normally i find the point-and-click style movement to be a bit annyoing but it doesnt seem to bother me much in this game.
I haven't tried pvp'ing yet, but from what people are telling me in-game it seems to be prety sweet to. And then there's the archlord thing; a player can be crowned archlord of the server and rule for about a month or so... prety cool concept if you ask me.
Maybe i have found my mmo to play untill the next wave of mmo's are released somewhere in 2008.
Anyway, see if you like it folks... i think a lot of people will be pleasantly surprised by this game. It's free so nothing to keep you from checking it out
-edit; and yes i know... the game has a few flaws but, what free mmo doesn't?
Well actually, this has been "free to play forever" for a long time now (6months+?). I'm guessing the difference now is that it will also be free to buy (it already cost some 20$ so it's not that big of a savings deal).
That being said (which is already a lot) I'd like to add that, the game had a feeling of neglect straight after beta (they soon after got rid of most of the team and there wasn't even a gameMaster on at all times, in fact at a point they were on for like 10 hours of the day and if you got stuck which happened a lot, you would have to stop playing and come back later hoping that a GM was on...most annoying).
The lack of content drove people mad with a game that was mainly focused on the grind. Only the hardcore "mine is bigger than yours" player kept going.
Some great content was to be added that would bring multiplayer siege to the game but it took them what, a year to put it in the game? Thus driving away what was left of the community.
On top of all of this, the game had a huge cheating problem with bots even outnumbering the real players at times and there were all kinds of those, bots that represented people that wanted to lvl but not play and bots that just gathered stuff to sell for real money. They could not stop them or just didn't care. So now they are just giving keys away....i can imagine the amount of botness!
I had a blast playing the beta. The game seemed simple and fun with lots to do up to lvl 20 and back then there were so many playing that you lvled, quested, grouped, killed ppl and monsters alike, had fun! Those days are gone and they are not coming back.
In conclusion I would just like to say that, right now, more valuable than my money is my time and I can't Waste any with this game anymore and neither should you. There are so many games out there that you shouldn't even give this one a 2nd thought. Hell!! Not even a 1st!!
I've been playing this for about 4 days now and all i can say is that there seem to be more then anough people online to enjoy this game. On top of that, the numbers will probably increase a lot since this game is now totally free of charge (like games such as silkroad). And up untill now i haven't seen one single bot tbh. I'm sure there are a few around tho...
im downloading it right now i hope its a good game.
This is good news indeed, i already have the game though anyways. I dont know what everyones problem with the game is, its F2P and its one of the best F2P games out, it is most definatly better than games like SRO, KAL and Last Chaos, yet those games seem to have attracted more people so far, I just hope Archlord starts filling up alot now.

While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, "give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404."
I remember beta testing this piece of tripe along with rfonline.
Codemasters is gonna go bankrupt if they continue to finance these shitty korean mmo's.
I wouldn't touch this crap if they paid me to do so.
Well, I'll pretty much guarantee that there will be now, especially since i'm sure every botter out there is making an account here for a key.
Codemasters should have started off with the f2p model, instead they shot themselves in the foot with a buggy product and an insane payment plan. Hopefully it isn't too little too late at this point, we'll see.
Considering the low quality of free to play MMO's that are out there on the western market, this game could have reached success along the lines of Silkroad and Maple story had it been advertised as a free to play MMORPG from the very beginning.
What a horrible game...
I'd have to be paid at least a 4-digit-sum of Money before I play that game again *shudders*

I have no idea what having no credits means, since I dont play archlord, but... there's the official word from CM.
If I remember this game correctly it is somehow based on spending real money from real life
to buy items and things in the game. I did not try it because of this. I don't see paying money
daily to obtain things in a game; plus pay for it as well! If I am remembering the wrong game
please let me know.

Credits are for their item mall. That's why this game never took off, trying to combine the asian paying scheme of item shops AND the western style of having to buy the game also. Greed got 'em nowhere fast.
Take a look at the verbiage when you are approved for a new key (I've removed the link/key information):
Congratulations on receivin Archlord and allow you to play for free forever no risk and no fees!
Can someone please spell and grammar check this -- and then fix it! That is an example of both poor english, and a lack of professionalism (either from MMORPG.com or the people at Archlord). Just because something is being "given away" doesn't mean you should not take the time to at least phrase it correctly!
