We use a couple of 3rd party companies that feed us gaming ads. It was probably one of these companies, I will make sure that we track down which one and let them know that those ads are unacceptable around here and get them removed. Thank you for the heads up since we don't setup the ads for those by campaign some of these things can slip by us.
This may seem to be a stupid question, but you guys don't check out your own ads before they get posted?
Edit: Also, having this thread up for 19+ hours before a response didn't do wonders either, as you can see from the responses here.
in defense of the Admin, you should really e-mail them on anything you expect a quick response from. I dont even look into all teh threads here, and the only way for the admin to see is if he wonders in this thread. Hell I just got in it now.

Not a stupid question at all. We basically use two types of advertising here on MMORPG.com:
1. Advertising campaigns that we negotiate and setup. We have 100% control over these campaigns since we handle all creatives, contracts etc.
2. 3rd party advertising. We use a couple of 3rd party companies to fill in the inventory gaps caused by the unknown of how many page views the site gets per day. We tell them we want gaming specific ads and they send them to us.
The source of these ads fall under #2, we will be tracking down the ad and the supplier and get it removed.

Well first for theose wondering why I placed it here in "off-topic", it is not game related, therefore it is off-topic. Secondly, I use the "recent" tab for browsing posts here, so the off-topic posts come up just as regularly as any other section. So, for me at least, the "off-topic" section was just as visible as "the pub" or anything else.

Alright, well I guess that makes sense. Tell 'em they ain't gettin' paid this month. But, it does not look good for you guys to be banning someone for something you yourselves ( even if inadvertantly) are doing.
No offense MMORPG.com for what I am about to say... But you have been pulling this hypocritical bullshit since I FIRST JOINED. Even if you do profit from it, don't pull private servers request/posts from threads if you still advertise them yourselves.
None taken But if you read my message above yours it explained quite simply how that ad had gotten onto our website. Some things are out of our control until they are brought to our attention by the users.
In any event I tracked down the supplier of the ad and have requested that it be blocked from our site.
Again in the future for much faster response send us an email.
