I guess it's easier for ugly people to get dates through mmorpgs cause all women that play are mingers.

The 'study' was done in the UK, nothing wrong with that, also done for WoW players, they only use 1000 people to come up with the results that are applied to the more than 1 million (Conservative) people as 'fact'.
These kind of 'studies' are incomplete and misleading to say the least. Interesting though that out of these 1000 people half have had 'Physical Encounters' with other players...
Yeah, considering that in reality probably more than half of the MMO market is now married and have kids. Fracking hell, even Smedley has kids (*gags at the concept of evil spawning...*). So, this study is bad from the get go. Plus, only focusing on one MMO skews any sample significantly. WoW players are going to probably be younger than UO players for example. None the less, I see a problem with these folks finding a means to even get a decent sample anyways, most things related to online are self-selection in regards to sample bias.

Tell that to my old junior high teaching assistant who played sports games on the Sega Genesis when that console was mainstream back in the day...

Sorry man, your wrong. Yes, they do. In fact thier numbers are on the uprise.
Back to the subject, the studies are pretty intresting. But its kinda a givien that people that play mmorpgs are social for the most part. It IS a mmorpg after all. If they didnt want to be social in some shape or form they would be playing single player games.

BAAAAAAHAHAHAHA
I actually know more females that game than males, although some of them have only played WoW heh.
and just fyi, none of them are hunch-backed mutant females either
Currently Playing : WAR, UO, RL
So. Any of you chicks want to go get some lobster?
nope you are all wrong. girls don't play video games. They are to busy having pillow fights while wearing baby doll pajamas, cooking barefoot, or causing automobile accidents.
Normally it would be silly to focus on only one MMORPG,But this is an mmorpg that holds far over 50% of the mmorpg subscribtion market. it makes sense to investigate the game the vast majority of mmorpg players play.
Perhaps, but even in elections, focusing on a heavily populated state like California, just as an example, would produce a significant skew to warrant skepticism toward the validity of the sampling of that sort. The same follows for taking a big game like WoW only, then disregarding UO, or other older games. Now I stated older games for a reason, since older games tend to have a different sort of audience, whereas sampling a game like EQ2 or LOTRO would probably be redundant as they would have a similar sample to WoW, but without any significant variation (which one could argue that it would due to it being a truly international game). None the less, I think if this survey hasn't asked non-English speakers about their habits, I suspect then the survey would have produced a different graph if they did. English speaking players are often over worked and underpaid as to go about the traditional dating/courting methods. So, it's either they get no time to socialize outside of the game or they have not enough money to do anything else. One could argue against that as well, since PCs are expensive, but many cheap PCs can run WoW with little or no upgrades, so that counter would be weak at best. But I find the survey interesting either way, even if I find doubt in the methods they utilized.

I honestly feel rediculous that I have to explain this. 90% of the time, when someone says "girls don't game" or "there are no girls on the interweb", they're being sarcastic.
That is all.

Glad to see someone else got it as well
