not very much has been released about raiding, esp. PVP raiding.  We will have to wait till the game showcase FUncom is going to (forgot the name) and maybe then we will hear some extra beef about raiding.  I look forward to hearing about it.

There will be plenty of both so that everyone is happy. PvE gear comes from PvE and is useless in PvP. PvP gear comes form PvP and is useless in PvE.

There will definately be both. There will be the large scale PVP battles in the Border Kingdoms and there will also be some large raid instances.  In the video at E3 a while ago they showed one of the PVE raid zones which I think was called Black Citadel?  But, in this quote from Athelan one of the dev's for AoC it seems that items will have PVE and PVP attributes to them....

Because PvP modifiers dont have to fit inside budgets for balancing PvE we can balance PvP entirely separately when it comes to items and don't have to say

"oh no we can't make that because its better than the sword that comes from the guy at the end of that one super high level raid encounter"

Crafted Items have the power of user control and choice, while "drop" type items will have their modifications predetermined using formulas by item designers

I don't get why people seem to be close minded and think  that the game can only be good for raiders or good for pvpers, it could be great for both.

PvP isn't half as boring as fighting NPC's mate.

PvP is only fun when you are good at it. I like getting my ass kicked every now and again in PvP but wouldn't want it to be the only thing in a game. I am glad to hear that AoC will be well rounded.

What they should do is make PvP gear useable in both PvE & PvP, because it is more harder to obtain, using WoW as an example: once you figure out how to kill a raid boss, its easy, while in PvP you are facing an unpredictable opponent and do not know what they will do next, thus making it more difficult than PvE

    ^^my opinion :)

Well generally speaking you cant be the best in many things, if you focus on one thing and make that very good but then other parts will suffer. And that doesnt apply only to MMORPGs.

Having said that I really hope that AoC focuses on the PvP part as most MMORPGs are mainly PvE and have just thrown in some PvP to attract more people to the game.
