Complete Guide to Getting Beta Access

Hello everyone, I'm writing this, not breaking the NDA, to let everyone know how they can get into the beta! I was really confused about it, but I finally made it, so here you go:

 

First of all: you must pre-order the game. The best way to do this is directly from the PlayNC.com store. You will not receive a physical copy, only a digital download once the game is released. The other way is to pre-order the game through a retailer; IMPORTANT: If you do Pre-ORDER from a RETAILER, ENSURE that you get the TABULA RASA PRE-ORDER BONUS BOX that includes your BETA ACCESS KEY! Do NOT pre-order the game if they CANNOT provide you with one!

 

Secondly: once you have a beta key, whether from a digital copy or a retail box, login to plaync.com, go to your game accounts, and "add subscription". If you have the digital edition tied to your PlayNC account, this will happen automatically. If not, you must enter the serial key manually. At this point, go to the Tabula Rasa page under Game Accounts at PlayNC.com, and in the top right, click "Download Client". Please note: you will receive an email from PlayNC saying, "We will inform you when pre-order customers can enter the beta." THIS IS AN ERROR! All pre-order customers, as of this writing, have access to the closed beta!

 

MY SUGGESTION: If you are eager to test this game out and give your feedback to the developers, just pay the $5 pre-order fee at PlayNC.com!

 

Please note the following playtime restrictions are in effect for closed beta users (servers only available during the following times):

Tuesday 6pm-3am EST Thursday 6pm-3am EST Friday 6pm - Mon 3am EST (open all weekend)

The times are slightly different for EU testers....same times except on Monday/Wednesday GMT +1

 

Hope this helps you guys! It was a nightmare trying to do all this stuff by myself, so I hope this takes some of the confusion out of it for you people wanting to beta the game!

    Make sure your 18+. And that your PlayNC account reflects this. (No, you can't change your age once the account is made.) You have to be 18+ to "Sign" a NDA agreement.

    If your account is not 18+ yet, don't do it. There is no work-around. At least for digital orders.

    I know how this is gonna sound. It's gonna sound like I wanna try the game before it's released to see if it's for me instead of really dedicating time to test and make it better. I know that the responses it'll produce will be to wait for a free trial or a buddy key instead of wasting a beta spot "you lazy, cheap ass moron."

    But I'm gonna ask it anyway...

    If it sucks can I get my $5 refunded from the online PlayNC.com store?

    I had to ask

    Or be like me and get a friend who works there to put you on the closed beta list. ^_^

    2 - you get refund if you buy game via playtr

    Had a limited key from eurogamer.net , and want a real beta key asap , i only hope they give real beta keys out to us that tried it with limited key. And im sick of all damn subscriber sites like fileplanet or gamespot that hand out free beta keys if you´re a subscriber , guess most of those that subscribe gonna download TR and play for 15 min then delete it , so much for feedback then =(

    i think i'd just rather hold off till the do an open beta... or until i win a key. whichever first.

    There is no limitation to these accounts other than the times is there?

     

    I am also assuming CB accounts are wiped when they go live?

     

    I signed up today because I am utterly bored with fantasy hack and slash and used to love AO, which this appears to resemble...

    OP,

    Thanks for the information.  It was spot on.  Downloading the client now!

    To the guy who wants his $5.00 back.  Take a look at the Video spot on the game here at MMORPG you will have most all of you value questions answered.

    And yes $5.00 is nothing for an offer of this type.  Heck I used to dump $20.00 at a time into arcades back in the day.  Of course that day is long since dead and buried, and im starting to show my age.

    You folks are right: $5 is chump change. :)

    So I bought it.

    Followed the instructions on the OP. Worked fine... until...

    I'm using Firefox. When I hit "download client" it took me to an FTP site that showed a directory with "data files" "movies" and other stuff. One of the files was "installation client" or something to that effect. I downloaded that one and it's automatically downloading the client now via the "Tabula Rasa Installer." I hope it works. Just thought I'd put this in here and wondered if anyone else got that FTP site after hitting "Download Client."

    BTW is the game as fabulous as that Leipzig video makes it to be? That's what sold me for pre-ordering.

    Yeah, Yamisniper is right..  Gamespot is passing out free beta access keys also... All you need to do is login to Gamespot, download and signup for the beta there and they give you the beta key. Its even easier then these instructions.
