I'm waiting for Halo 3 to come out and I enjoy playing Bioshock, but things that urks me became really clear when playing this FPS. When I look down, I see no feet, no body (I think I saw shadow though). So now it feels like I'm now a floating ball with two hands. It's no where like first person, where you can't see yourself. I'm tired of seeing hands. I want to see a BODY standing when I look down.
Halo 3 screenshots are beautiful, but you can't play this game in third person or movie style. I can't stand where pretty much ALL released screenshots are in angles you will never be able to play in. This is about the Campaign screens too. They almost never show screens of the game as how YOU look at it. First Person....First Person....

Not only do you usually not see feet or body, you also never really see past you forearm. It would be nice if FPS games let you see your body in first person, plus add a third person over the shoulder option, I like that point of view in Gears of War and RE4.
Don't you worry little buddy. You're dealing with a man of honor. However, honor requires a higher percentage of profit
I agree. There have been FPS that let you see your feet but there aren't many. I can't remember the last time I played a FPS where I could see my feet. I also enjoyed the 3rd person angle on Gears of War, but for me it took some time to get used to. I was expecting a first-person view but was pleasantly suprised when I could see myself.
I'm pretty sure that you can see your feet while jumping in Halo2...though I would need to check it when I'm back in the dorm this weekend.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
Call of Juarez and The Darkness are two fairly good FPS games that show both your feet and body when you look down.
It always bugs me too, so I have a habit of marking which ones do and which ones don't.

The MMO gaming blog I write for.
I hate being a disemobied arm as well in so many games. I haven't play CoJ (though I am actually really interested so I should pick it up), but yes, having your whole body present in The Darkness was a nice touch. I know there've been a few other games I have played that did the same thing, but for the life of me I just cannot recall what titls those were.
"What is it I have against Microsoft, you ask? Well, you know how you feel when you wait for an MMO to come out and when it does you feel like you've paid to play it's beta test for another 6-9 months before anything even thinks of working the way it should? Being a network engineer you feel that way about anything Microsoft puts out."
you can see your thighs, if i remember correctly.
You went wrong right there.

I aint going to say it's the best, but I have my love for halo. That was one of the only games co-op FPS back to Xbox and I still love it for campaign and co-op. I don't play H2 multiplayer anymore though.

Because you can make a 20k polie fore-arm instead of rendering a whole body.
Honestly I don't want to be distracted by a body moving while I'm trying to concentrate on an enemy.
For single player games, yes. For competitive multiplayer games, no way.

Fear was also very good about seeing your own body. And ghosts.
Hit the nail on the head.

How would it distract you? Well depends on how you think of it.

When I play an FPS, all I'm concerned about is crosshairs and heads. Anything else is distracting.

True, but say your jumping off a cliff about to shoot a rocket launcher at someone. Seeing your knees a little bit would really bring in some realism that your actually looking down you know?

OFP
ArmA
GRAW 2(perhaps also in the first one)
FEAR
You can see your own body in those games.
I never noticed that, never payed attention. But I don't care, it's such a small thing. But it would be cool if you could shoot at your own feet.
And then you accidentally kill yourself in the process by blasting off your feet xD
All I can say is: that's fucking true! One of the things which always made wonder, how hard can it truly be to just throw in a few feet? The rest of the game is super realistic, but you don't have feet? It's not that it's important or anything, just that it's pathetic when you spend so much time making the game realistic.
First you people will want feet. Then when you will get your feet you'll want to see your junk WHERE WILL IT END ??!!
