Well, I ran into a few snags installing this game.. the dload failed 3 times on me, I tried a 4th just today and it finally worked..
I was able to obtain my beta key, after I thought I already had a login/account, I re-entered another one because they claimed my e-mail wasn't logged with an account.. bottom line, it was confusing and annoying..
I get it installed, I have a core2 6300 1gb ram gforce 7600gt.. so i crank all the vid setting to max.. mistake.. it lagged pretty bad, it ran ok for a bit, but lagged still.. so i had to turn down some of the shadowing etc. IMO this game shouldn't be so demanding to run on full vid settings.. so i created an avatar... got through all the training.. not bad. I don't really like hitting F1 to target myself, but I suppose I could have changed that in the controls.. I didn't. I entered all types of battles.. they ended so quickly I could barely tell what was going on. Of course I died instantly.. then I realize there's pre-made characters.. but how the F do I make one now that I've already made my barebones avatar.. nobody would help me with that. this game has potential, I think if you give it time and learn the mechanics it can be fun.. but at the end of the day, it's hard to pry myself away from Guild Wars to learn a new play system.. I see this game as what Guild Wars 2 might end up being.. I don't know, I'll probably give it another go again this weekend.. if anyone knows how I can re-create a pre-made lvl 5 character so I can really feel like I'm evenly matched up, reply. My expectations exceeded what was Fury.. of course there's a huge learning curve in games like this with all the different skills.. i guess I"m on the fence.

Kind of low on the RAM.
I was pretty excited for this game a bit ago, then came the new build, smashed my performance into little bits, can't even open the damn game. I have pretty much the exact same comp specs as you.
Where were you downloading from?
Performance was improved during the last patch (few days ago) and they have said a Public Test Server will be up next week which shows the game in it's true form - improved performance, stability and better looking.
Fury Challenge this weekend has been great, getting some good kills in and getting spanked as well. Yeah, the learn curve can be a pain but give it a few matches and make sure you unlock you trials (quests!) and this game truely shines.

This is a huge problem with the game. They even mentioned it in their last newsletter. Players have to spend hours playing 30-second death, losing matches in order to get to a point where it doesn't happen. I doubt they will have that fixed, and be able to add enough content for it to be a worthwhile game by launch in 2 weeks.
I dloaded it from that pond site.. can't remember the exact name.. like I said, it worked on the 3rd try.
I read that they were trying to improve how it runs on your system.. I just think for this type of game why do you need 2GB of ram.. seemed to run slow still.. I just was watching a video in the FUry forums that showed red vs. blue battle.. they spent more time running to find each other than the match lasted.. i just don't see how that's fun..I still plan on staying close to this game becuase I love the idea of a pvp only game that is in this genre.
I gave the game a go as well. I was into it foe about 2 days and then it just go repetitious. The maps had tons of errors in them with tons of map leaks. The map leaks where very bad as well a major clipping issue on some maps that would just suck the ram dry trying to render negative space.
After noticing more and more map errors I just uninstalled, who ever mapped the arenas, the docking area as well as most of the skill zones needs a kick in the butt. Seriously WAY WAY to much copy and pasting and not following up with making the mapas clean.
Fix the maps, fixes the lag.
Concept was great but the over execution was poor.
Also this game needs medical sticker on the box , it will cause severe hand injuries if people play on long stretches. Think this game will take lives in asia , no joke.
im still having fun. it isnt the only thing i am playing atm which is where i think fury shines. its a great game to log into and do some hardkore pvp action and then go off onto something. one of the fury devs said something like the are happy to have fury be your other game. be married to wow and see little fury on the side. lol
they have fixed a lot of the server problems and the servers dont crash anymore. i am looking forward to seeing this post fury challenge version they say they are going to show on the test server some time this week. it is still beta after all.
but even after all that is said and done i want to support the little guy. im tired of these big companies screwing over good games and driving them into the ground. i pre-ordered fury and even if it is still a little rough ill give it time to smooth out and build up. eve online sucked when it launched and it eventually built up to quite a solid playerbase. if people play they will keep working at it.
oh and by the way my clan is so gonna win one of those dell computers they are giving away.
Your card was released in late 2005, you should think about getting another GB ram and maybe an upgrade to a 7950 or 8800.
I had fun with this game for a while, but after learning all its just same over and over and over and .. well. you get it. Some battles lasts like 2-5min, sometimes this is becuse of 2 healers in one group els its because of skilled players. These can be fun but in the long run this is ot a game that i could playe moer than a cupple of weeks.
cuz sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't
Pre made characters?
At the avatar creation stage, you select an archetype which basically determines which skills you start off with. You also get to 'try out' this archetype before permanently accepting it whilst still in the tutorial zone. If you don't like the skills you start out with, you can still change at this stage. This is the only time you fight NPC's.
Once thats done, you enter your first battle which is basically just to get you some 'essence' so you can start unlocking new 'trials' which give you new abilities.
What I wanted to make clear is that regardless of your initial Archetype selection in the tutorial, you can unlock abilities for any archetype and equip them as long as you have the right wep equipped (focus, 2 handed wep, dual wield, shield+sword, long wep).
SO say you rolled a Warden and started the game but then saw a Destroyer in action and decide you want to make on of them.
What you do is hit 'J', click 'change incarnation', click 'create new incarnation'.
Now you have a blank or copy of your previous Archetype (you get to choose).
Basically whatever schools abilities you equip in majority determines your archeytpe.
SO you want to go Destroyer, you start unlocking Destroyer trials and equip those abilities to use in battle so you can earn the correct essence to unlock more of those.
Hope that helps.
