I'm really tired of fantasy games, aren't you? Theres so many, all have the same system of play, only main difference is graphics and story, every fantasy MMORPG is nothing more than a grinder... How is this game any different?
I would never be tired of fantasy games if someone did it "right". The problem is what is right to me, probably isn't right to you. 100% total and free customization of my character. I want to make my character look and BE different from the other 1000 players playing. for looks see City of Heros and for skill sets see Eve and UO. RVR - although I do not care for pking I absolutely love rvr - 2 sides battling it out for a castle or such. see DAOC (rvr) and Shadowbane (for politics) Content - questing / crafting WoW did an excellent job in these areas. NO grind, just let me do stuff and achieve and most importantly have FUN. I could go on, but those are the main criteria.... but like I said - for every view I have someone else will think something different.
I like the ideas you have as well with a couple differences. I would say for skills I would go with the SWG system. I loved mixing and matching my skills to create the perfect role for me. I played it because I loved to play not to get to the next lvl or anything similar. I'd agree though mix City of Hero's Character system with SWG's skill system and DAOC's RvR system and you would have the perfect blend.
For me WOW content may not be the way to go though it seemed to turn everyone into solo artist or maybe thats just what people wanted. Either way a system similar to city of hero's would be fine with me. Many people say the content is just a grind but to me it was a reason to group with others and enjoy the game you love. Everyone could complete the same quest and you didn't have to worry about someone not being on the same quest which minimized down time.
wait for darkfall and then play it assuming it comes out and isn't broken =D
LOL L2's new advertisement is wonderful..... Take a step back in time and relive the original Lineage II experience as it was in the beginning. Create a classic hero from the original 5 races and 31 class options and jump into the nostalgic hardcore level grind where the rewards can outweigh the risks. It's your chance to experience the game the way it was when "hardcore" meant something!
