For those who want both EQ2 and WoW

Ok here is why i am gonna be playing both games....

EQ2
I will be using examples from my experiences with eq

Community-In EQ alot of people are very friendly.....and I have been playing for 3 years so I have seen alot of changes and I have seen alot of people come and go......I actually atm still play.....but usually when you need help there are peopel who just jump up and start helping you......even with some beggers then turn them down very politely...i have seen that done to plenty of times......and yet some times they jsut yell......

Game play-Eq was Very easy for me to learn how to control and how to do everything....I mean it took me I guess a few hours to learn but thats quick for some mmorpgs.....and idk...I love these controls becasue they are so simple.....

Economy-I love the economy...its simple.....every 10 of x is 1 of y...unlike DAoC....100s=1g....100g=1p...1000p=1m.....I mean thats alot....1000p is insane...and you have no life if you can get that much in daoc...but then again thats just me.......

PvP-Idk....I was never much for PvP because not alot of people i meet online were ever like...hey lets go pvp or hey you want to have a pvp match....but i do like it in a sense and hope to broaden my like for it......

Gods-I love how in this you have to choose which god you follow and everything......i think that adds a bit of....kick.....to the game becasue I have the PoP eq atlas book....(map of every zone) and it has an explanation of all the plains and the gods and everything so i love to read about them.

And I know these reasons are jsut few to name but if the pepole that played eq are going to eq2 and the people from mmorpg.com......then i think i will enjoy eq2.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

WoW

Community-I know your saying like how would you know if you have not played the game. I don't.......but if some of the peopel that play eq alsop that are gonna play WoW then it shouldn't be bad...and if some people on here...that are gonna play WoW like Dracius then it really shouldn't be bad.

Quests-I love how in WoW for most or all of the quests you do....you have a choice on what you want for your reward...thats freakin awesome.....I mean this way you can do a quest and if theres nothing you can use for you then you can look for somehting for say...a friend....an alt...or what ever....

WC3-I love it because this game is based in the whole wc3 world which I loved....so ya know....to me thats one thign that makes this game worth while man......being able to be a night elf or a tauren or w.e.

PvP-I love how they are gonna do the RvR thing(AvH) like they did it in DAoC....that makes the game feel alittle more like an allience horde deal...unlike EQ where you can group with good or evil races.....

Unique Moutns for each race-I love how not everone will have a horse....everyone has there own kind of animal for there mountso it makes it alittle more unique and fun....

Heroes-From what I hear...at level cap you can become a hero depending your class/race combination. I would love to become a Demon hunter.....or a spirit walker....or awhat ever thrall was..war chief no?w.e

*Read*
Please I don't want anyone coming in here and flaming one game or the other i am asking for peopel that are gonna play both games come in here and explain why....Becasue I know both games are goona be VERY good in thier ways and niether will be better then the other

i hated eq2 new video....something like ps2 ..not the grafics self...but how those grafics are used

most chars look like after nice lunch in McDonalds (dragon included) and movements suxx

but wow cartoonish grafics arent best too

just wait for release and play both free month......i think its the best what u can do

It's all about gamplay, not graphic that matters. Graphic does make the game look and feel better, but gamplay and content is the most important of all. Lineage2 have a good design and good graphic but therei sn't much strategy in gamplay and little content; it turn out to be boring after a month or so of grinding only. EQ2 should have enough content to satisfy both noob and vet. WoW gameplay should be very fun with lots of interesting quest to keep us happy.

I will probably play both. EQ2 is coming out like 6 months before WoW, so that's a good thing. Ill play EQ2 for 6 months then switch to WoW and maybe try to make up my mind which game will I spend most of my free time. image

I liked EQ quite a bit...to say otherwise would be silly...I played on/off for almost 5 years now hehe

That said I feel like I am done with EQ, though I still play here and there, I feel like I have done most everything I want to in the game. I am not into big raids and or guilds and for that reason I know I will be dropping EQ for EQ 2 when it comes out. I like the tighter knit guilds and am really looking forward to EQ 2 because it is tailored to smaller guilds/raids/hunts. Not that I am downplaying all the other neat stuff EQ 2 is trying to improve on but the group/guild size content alone makes EQ 2 very appealing to me image

I'm going to play them both because I'm a MMOG junkie. I like to see how they all work...what's good and what's bad, and these titles seem to have some interesting things to offer.

    May the best game win.

actually, Wow is set to release early November. EQ2 is set to be released early september. Just because one game is farther through beta doesnt mean it will be finished first.

I'm guessing you got that release date from some random game sight which is not a good source to use. A more realistic release date will be sometime next year, probably not until early summer. If you think EQ2 is going to make release this year you're honestly kidding yourself.

I currently playing EQ I'm going to buy Guild Wars and WoW. They are both good games and deserve a try. Everquest 2 could be a good game will see.

If you read about the tour of SOE mmorpg.com got , it states in the interview that EQ2 will definately be shipped before the end of this year. That was quoted by the head of PR for EQ2.

Its not the amount of time in beta its how the game content is if its lacking then its not worth the ink to print the box. I am banking on being a eq fan and belonging to the EQ community for 5 years and yes there beta was not so good but the game has come a long way. So I will be playing both because I am also a avid fan of WarCraft 3 and lets give cootos to Duke Winter Maul for all his hard work and many mauls that has kept me interested in WC3.

Believe that if you would like but realistically there's no chance they're going to see a 2004 release. If they do try and force it out early (meaning this year) it's going to be another disaster. They'll need at least a solid 6 months but probably more for beta testing which has not even begun yet. As many classes as they intend to implement they'll need every day they can get to have at least some balance before release.

I now I'm going to have and play both games at the same time. But before anyone says anything about having to much money or anything like that, that's just not the case. I have the curse of living with a roomate... But luckily we're good friends and get along just fine and enjoy the same hobbies such as MMORPGs. I was worried about having to try and decide which of the two games i wanted to get until we came up with a deal. I buy and pay the monthly fee for EQ2 while he does the same for WOW. From there we just split the chars from each game. Assuming that each will have 8 (which seems to be the norm for most today), we will both get 4 slots on EQ2 and 4 slots on WOW for one montly fee. For any of you out there in the younger crowd that wanted to get both but they couldn't pay for it or parents or whatever, I recommend trying to do the same if they have a sibling that likes to play MMORPGs. Or maybe even really good friends. That's how I got over worrying which of the two I was going to decide upon.
