RV outlives nothing, since RV has never lived. G&H was far more live and polished than RV ever!
As a great fan of the roman era, i think, that was a huge mistake to allow RV to be sold for real life money. Even a text based MUD was better.
G&H was placed on the roman mythology, which is not realistic, but as for design, armors, buildings, even the map including the city of Rome was it. I made some screens during beta. It was breathtaking to walk along the Via Appia and enter Rome, walk along the outer walls of the Circus Maximus, climb the Capitoline Hill and take a look on the Forum from the temple of Juppiter Optimus Maximus. It was an illusion, but i felt as i recognized some places from the real ruins of the Palatine Hill, etc.
I read your post on the G&H forum and realized your pleasure because of G&H will never released. I don't want to ruin your joy, enjoy RV if you are just a common player and if not related to RB in any ways. As for me, i just wait. Perhaps one day we, honorary romans will also get back our virtual city in an MMO.

The joke was that they were both dead roman-era games; hence it would be reasonable in a humorous sense to have thought you were in the G&H forum when, in fact, you were in the RV one.
The fact that this post happened before G&H closed down makes it all the more hilarious.

Yes I understand it, so when are they going to put it into RV?
I believe RV will or could be open sandbox however, at this time its nothing more then lacking. Its a game in beta, only its been released for people to donate.
Combat, is poor, but has a system that could be great. Building buildings is good idea, however, its not even close to being ready. Sure you can build a few here or there, but they dont do much other then allow you to store a few things safely or craft stuff in them. You can put chairs down or beds or put up a picture. Heck you cant even cook in it. Leadership system is starting to come around over 1 year later, and still its very poor. Leaders have very little control over what goes on with any laws or anything.
This game is as much of a sand box game as UO is. Nothing more nothing less. I can name at least 3 or 4 games that are better sandbox with less bugs and more players. Does that mean I think that RV is crap? Nope I just think its not ready yet.
