the only game I'd ever want to play from the orange box would be portals.  and that was  before reviews were out.

it's not worth $50 to get a 4 hour long game.

and it's not worth installing steam for it.

steam is essentially spyware even if it's not for malicous use it still is.  privacy is a big thing for me.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

The only downside to portal for me is once i play it through i have no intention to playing the main story over again. Which leads me to hope someone ports in the portal gun to Gary's mod so i can gleefully play with it on my own time without having to go into the difficult advanced challenges again or replay the main game over just so i can shoot off portals and have fun with physics.

On the main hand however, Portal was exceptionally good and hilarious. It made the orange box worth it all by itself.

and If Yahtzee can't come up with any negatives then it has to be good.

  • I hope there is some kind of multiplayer game incorporating the Portal system. Prey kind of started things in that direction, but not with this level of control.

Steam does not pose a security risk in any kind. The only information they gather from you, is what you allow them to gather(such as your system specifications)

Besides... you can buy portal alone for 19.95 $

The most fun I have had at my computer sine "the incredible machine".

Just wait until they releas the SDK for it, you can still use the HL2 editor to build portal maps but once we have the full thing I doubt we will ever run out of maps to play, hopefully some of them will be good.

Seeing as svencoop has dropped coop for HL2 I am not sure who could make a nice mp mod for this but the possibilites with such maps are endless, imagine the puzzles one could make were 3 or 4 people have to cooperate to traverse the map.

I am probably going to be all over the editor when it hits, if it hasnt allready, havent checked, just know it was not with the install.

Damn I havent made hl maps since forever and then it was for svencoop, I am gonna have some fun with this.
