LF awesome pvp and character development

Me and some friends pretty much stopped playing Guild Wars a week ago and right now we are playing CoV trials. We find the game rather fun seeing how much you can personalize your avatar and the classes being fun and interesting. Although we don't know much about the other games character development or PVP(which is what we mainly are looking for, the pvp that is).
I've played most MMOs a tiny bit with trials and stuff, but I have no idea how interesting and diverse mid and end game is. Though about skills and stuff I kinda like Guild Wars and Villains system where you dont just get all the skills, though you probably get most of them in end game villains but nvm that.
Once again, what we are looking for is a good MMO with good character development, good pvp, good character design and fun overall. Please tell me WHY the games have good pvp and character development too... Oh and having to raid and grind equipment just to be able to pvp properly is not cool, although not the end of the world either.
Games I'm not touching:
WoW, Guild Wars, any random korean MMO like RF..., Lineage 2, City of Heroes

try fury it has a good character dev with skills and archtypes and the pvp is great
No thank you, I already tried Fury and I think the pvp was rather bad in the way it was played. Lots of spamming attacks, not knowing when things hit or why they dont hit and stuff like that. Don't like it.

Can give DAOC free trial a whirl. It may not have all you want, but its still fun.

Could try SWG. There are multiple ways you can customise your character(s) and PvP is amjor source of content in the game.
