Um... Runescape sucks, and the title of the thread is "LF awesome graphics", RS no-where near qualifies.

I've been looking at GW: Nightfall. Graphics looks good. Reckon I should get that?

EDIT: Might have a look at Fury too, could be quite fun.

LOTRO has good graphics and minimal grind.  Performance is pretty good too, so you can crank up the graphical options.  And they are adding player housing today which is a nice feature.

EQ2's graphics are a mixed bag.  Some of the art is well done, but a lot of it is also kind of bland and some downright ugly.  I think the armor graphics are terrible.  There are lots of quests to do, but I still ended up doing more grinding than I would have liked.

Vanguard has nice graphics, sometimes breathtaking, but comes at a steep price in terms of performance.  Runs great if your alone, but get in a large group of peeps and the system gets bogged down.  Atleast that was my experience.

L2 has nice graphcis from screenshots I"ve seen.  Never played it myself, but I heard the grind is horrid do to overinflation of the economy by gold sellers.  The girl avatars are hot though :)

Guildwars also has nice graphics and no monthly fee.  Haven't played it in a long time but as I remember it was a pretty good game.

Archlord is grind grind grind, and the graphics aren't that good. 2Moons is just downright awful. And I haven't tried Sword of the New World.

Wait for AoC, it's coming out in March 2008 but the wait will be well worth it. The graphics are awesome and when released it will make use of your DX10 video card, if you have one. The dev's have said that there will be no grinding to reach the level cap (80) and you will always have a quest to get you there, on top of the fact that soloing all the way to level 80, if you choose to do so, shouldn't be difficult at all.

Perfect World gets to be a complete grindfest after level 35 or so.

I am VERY excited about AoC and I'll definitely get it when it comes out. But I need something to do in the meantime. Also, will AoC work with DirectX9? My graphics cards (I'm using SLI) support DX10 but I don't have Windows Vista and I don't want to get it (not only is it really expensive but it also sucks).

I'm not quite sure I'm glad to hear this about AOC.... I was sort of hoping for a greater challenge in AOC than WOW.... or they'd better have a terrific end game planned....

And I find quest based games, while great for solo play, don't do a lot to foster the community..... (at least in WOW/LoTRO they seemed to hinder it quite a bit)

Yes it will work with your DX9 setup, you don't need DX10, but it's there if you choose to use it.

Sorry, that must have come out a bit wrong, it will be just as easy to solo as it is to group all the way to level 80, I don't know the actual difficulty of leveling to 80.

try sword of the new world, it's pretty impressive. what didn't you like about 2moons?

also archlord's graphics impress me, i was just looking at my char against a crisp moon and beautiful star-lit sky and then i noticed that i could see his breath out because it was cold, it was alll reflected in the water right by me.. i thought it was very cool *shrug*
