Starting to dig Minstrel in LOTRO
I have realized that for me MMORPG's are all about finding a class I like. It only took me 6 years to realize this!
So I am doing the LOTRO free trial right now and wondering if that will be my next game, or is there another jack of all trades and/or singer class I need to look into?
DoaC is an option. Although I have read about "instrument twisting" which sounds pretty yucky. Any other games/classes you can reccomend?
Oh yes, soloing must be a viable option!
peace!

When I was playing in beta for Lotro. Captain had bit of a bardish feel to them. Lots of team buffs and pretty flexable.
Final Fantasy XI has a Bard job. You'll get lots of invites, too, Bards are a favorite class in parties and not a lot of people play it. It is an advanced job, which means you'll need to take one of the six basic jobs to 30 in order to be able to unlock it.
Red Mage is the jack-of-all-trades job. It's one of the six basics, so you can play it from the get-go. It's also a support job like Bard, and like it, in demand in parties (particularly after level 41, when you get Refresh). The do-everything aspect of Red Mage doesn't get much play in parties, which tend to reward specialization, but does make them fun to solo. I play a Red Mage myself.

If its all about finding the right class for you in an MMO, (which isnt a bad thing) i recommend Bard in DDO.
Even though its not you classic MMO world, when it comes to character building and nicly done classes, DDO is a winner.
I cant recommend DDO's Bard enough.
Since you mentioned Minstrels in DAOC ..which is not as yucky as you may think. Give Theurgs a try in DAOC (Albion side) ...now THATS a unique experience.
