I had to go with the BLizz on this one, and my vote for 2nd place would go to EA (Electronic Arts) C&C FTW!!!!

I shoot for the curve... anything above that is gravy.

Ensemble... but that's just because I love more realistic games.

And for Sci-Fi... nothing beats Total Annihilation/Supreme Commander.

I would say GAS POWERED GAMES make the best RTS games.

For example Supreme Commander - Forged Alliance.

Id say anybody EXCEPT Blizzard right now, 99% of their games are over 5 years old.

Of those two choices it is Blizzard by a long shot...but I think that Dawn of War is by far the best current RTS series being made (a third expansion was just announced)

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

Which goes to show you that they've done a good job.  How many games maintain a lot of popularity after five or more years?

    Blizzard wins.

Blizzard games WERE good for there time but it has been many years now since they last released a game. And the industry has moved on a lot since then.

And from what ive seen of starcraft 2 its more of the same gameplaywise with new fancy graphics and units. What they need to do is to completly redo the gameplay aspect.

For example Supreme commander changed the resource aspect to it by getting rid of minable resourced and tying it into a coupel of structures. However to keep the fun of stategically located resources one of the resource types you need to amke anything is located in specific locations that you have to build a structure on. They also got rid of the resource gathering machine. The other resource was energy which is gathered from generators which could be built anywhere.

Its small changes like this that help to make a trully  polished game if Blizzard can do this for there game then id be happy to buy  it  myself.

I love Age of Empire, but Ensemble has horrible support for their old games. I bet Microsoft is more to blame than Ensemble. As far as I know Age of Empires 3 is the only game they actually update. All of their old games are left for dead.

I don't have a problem with games that aren't played anymore becoming unsupported. However, Age of Empires 2 was still very popular even when Age of Empires 3 was released. People still even played the original. It appeared Microsoft or Ensemble could careless about the online community because they shut down both games. Even before they were shutdown they were unmaintained and filled with hacks.

There is also Age of Mythology, which isn't that old. As far as I know it's not patched at all anymore.
