Why is everyone voting Star Trek Online for most likely to be canceled in 2008? There is NO GAME. Hell, it'll prolly still be in courts in 2008. Odds are, if it is ever made, it will be a 2010 or later launch. If you're going to vote a game, make it a game that _actually exists_.
Anarchy Online. I know it's old and free to play now, but come on graphics look like ol' DOS games.
Least Fun:
World of Warcraft. It may be the "big boy" with 9+ million subs, but TBC didn't change anything and it's still the same game it was 2 years ago. World events nearly non-existant and just more 70 content being added to cater to all the powergamers.
Most Desolate:
Horizons. Being able to play as a dragon surely had appeal, but during my free trial period I saw a total of ... three... players. Total.
Worst Use of Popular IP or license:
Matrix Online. The movies should of translated well into an MMO, but the gameplay was horribly botched. Missions were extremely repetative and the "fun factor" wore off after a few days due to it.
Lamest Launch:
Vanguard. Simply put, the game wasn't ready. Period .. no if's and's or but's about it.
Most Likely to be Cancelled in 2008:
Star Trek Online. It really only appeals to a select group of people and they don't seem excited about it, kinda "bleh, they're gonna screw it up" attitude.
Biggest Stinker:
Vanguard. All the hype about this game was totally unfounded. Bad launch, buggy, deserted servers. You name it this game screwed it up.
Sword of the New World(launched w/ poor translations, added in an overpriced cash shop while p2p, went f2p after a month and a half, alt maps removed at the same time as f2p change so servers suffered from extreme overcrowding...and the compensation for the sudden and unannounced changes was having your prepaid months of subscriptions automatically changed into credit in the overpriced cash shop and getting the lvl 1 version of characters you can get in about a week)
Worst Graphics: Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean Online (also worst game abreviation DPotCO)
Least Fun: Dungeons and Dragons Online
Most Desolate: Gods and Heroes (LOL JK I don't have an answer for this one, the only desolate places I have played this year were closed betas in way diffrent time zones)
Worst Use of a Popular IP Tie between D&DO abd SWG (even after they improved both!)
(Amazing how many people voted WoW for least fun. Is it the only mmo you played? I'm not a WoW lover, but please, put feeling aside and learn to judge. If WoW is the least fun you hanve't played more than 2-3 MMO's)
Vanguard (it isnt a bad game now... but it's too late...)
Most Likely to be Cancelled in 2008:
Darkfall (will prolly never be release or if it does it will prolly be a Dark and Light 2 wannabe)
Biggest Stinker:
Dark and Light is still the biggest stinker ever for me, if we think about 2007 only, i will prolly vote for Hellgate, even if Hellgate isnt that bad, it's just that Flagship really disappointed us with a half baked game that missed the spot.
VSOH - (This was actually a close one between RV, VSOH and WOW for me.)
Most Desolate:
SWG - Crickets anyone? It's why I quit playing. From a guild of nearly 500 to 3 people online.
Worst Use of Popular IP or License:
SWG - Hands down winner, they'll never lose this title unless STO gives them a run for their money.
Lamest Launch:
Hellgate- i heard a lot of hype but now mere whispers. (I almost put Tabula Rasa here though).
Most Likely to be Cancelled in 2008:
STO - With PE's bumbling and keystone cop antics this is sure to be pulled. I'd bet money on it, besides they've already cancelled one and set precedence.
Biggest Stinker:
Fury - There are just so many to put in this area, but I think personally, this one stands out among all the other turds in the pack.
Going for more of an year in review approach here...
Worst Graphics: Pirates of the Burning Sea
Least Fun: Fury

I'll explain that last one. Since there's no "Biggest Let Down" award I factored that into the Biggest Stinker Award. Sure, there's worse games out there but at least I didn't expect much from them. Tabula Rasa had everything going for it and it was still bad.
