Lately I have been reading various articles and more so watching you tube videos on 9/11, Iraq War, and other related events. I don't know if I can say that I believe that there is a certain conspiracy going on that explains this all. There sure are a lot of them out there. The only thing that I am sure about the whole situation is that there are strange occurrences and inconsistencies with the official story we get on a lot of things. I am 18 years old and have very little ties to anything. I sit around and play video games every day when i'm not working. I want answers. I want change. I'm willing to pack up and move if there was somewhere that I could be doing something to get this change. If there was some truth organization that would support my little neccesities such as food, shelter, etc if I worked for the cause, I would be there.
What can I do to make a real difference?

First of all, it really doesn't matter where you move anymore. There is no frontier to which to travel. There is no New World to go to escape the greedy clutches of this one. Wherever you move, events will eventually reach you, probably sooner rather than later.
As for "real change". I'm going to tell you a hard thing: you can't make any real changes. Most definitely you can't bring real change simply by trying. If that sort of thing happens at all, it is mainly a matter of luck (or maybe Providence). However, it is true that if you don't try then it really is impossible; it's just that if you do try, it's still *almost* impossible.
Frankly, I think people are better off trying to be good to one another and looking out for their friends and family. Trying to change the world, or even the country, is generally a futile exercise, but helping those around you is not only possible, but generally admirable.
I guess what I'm saying is work within the scope of what you are capable of doing. Sure it's good to push your boundries, and you should do that from time to time. But it is one thing to try a tougher climb than one you've done before, and quite another to decide to climb Mount Everest in a blizzard.
As for answers... you have to decide for yourself what you believe. This is where a good education is very important: it can help you frame your questions and then use things like Reason, Logic, and Knowledge to help you arrive at conclusions you can trust. Unfortunately, a good education is something most people don't get to experience, and they often end up just accepting things because someone in Authority told them, or they liked some thing, or their friends all were of the same opinion. Not really very good reasons to accept something as true, IMO.
Just be careful of who you trust, and, if possible, get multiple viewpoints from varied sources. That will help, but ultimately you'll still be the one deciding what and who you believe.
What can you do? As a confused 18 year old, nothing at all that would make a noticable difference.
If you want answers, find them, if you want to make a difference, learn how to make yourself useful to the world. Joining a "Truth" organization would be worse than useless, the chances of any particular one being anything but mostly wrong are astronomically low, and the chances of you as a member being exploited in one way or another is very high.
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

if you are interested in finding stuff out, look at investigative journalism and maintain a crittical thinking perspective.
Find out which media organisztions acually report information pertaining to evidence and not conjecture.
See which companies get international awards for investigations and aim to get work with them.
Regard anything that a person says is the truth as unsubstantiated conjecture until you see and understand the evidence.
remember that not only do people lie, they unkowingly create falsehoods. Truth itself is an unkowable abstract.
also that working towards understanding and building a better world is acheived not it the future but by what you do today.
well said, but you also forgot one thing that I've been taught over and over again.
Believe NOTHING of what someone else says, and only HALF of what you see. I'm sure this is self explanitory, but it's a good phrase to remember when being a skeptic or being objective.
look for a quality aluminum foil company. You will need a lot of it.

You are capable of defining yourself as a no-lifer, you want change and you post that on an MMO forum ? You should be posting this where it matters, to matter. You don't need our lousy opinions, you either WANT to do something, or you DONT and when you do, you also understand you have to stand up.
Personally, I think the world is pretty fucked up currently and I'm pretty sure it'll only get worse over the coming century. There's nothing that can be done about it, because politicians use politics to be political about it, instead of making a true fist. Even war against terrorism is nothing but a cover for other operations. There is no true honor in fighting anywhere. The last time there was such a thing as honor in a fight, was in WWO II, where people fought to defend and not to attack (well..most of the world anyways).
Yes I'm pretty synical.
Vote.
BUT! If you keep voting for the same people, parties, and families (Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton) and you expect change, then YOU are the problem and not the country.
If you want change, you cannot vote for the same people, parties, and families.

I think the most important thing you can do is learn the difference between conspiracy theory and actual investigative journalism. I'm not saying that 9/11 and the Iraq war don't have corruption written in big bold letters all over them. I'm just saying that we don't know the whole truth and that those connecting the dots without all the facts or, worse yet, cherry picking the facts are conspiracy theorists and not journalists.
The first way that you can identify conspiracy theory is a curious lack of names. Sure, some menacing sounding organization may be named, but the names of actual individuals responsible will never be mentioned. The excuse for this oversight is that it would be "too dangerous" to the reporter if he / she divulged all that he / she knows. It's a cop out and no journalist with even an ounce of integrity would flinch due to threats of reprisal, violent or otherwise.
The line does sometimes get blurred though. In the 1988 Franklin child prostitution case, responsible parties were identified by name. Victims were able to supply information that they could not have gotten second hand. For instance, one of the boys drew an accurate layout of a room in the White House that was not open to the public. Everything about this case was plausible and laid out in extremely graphic detail. All of the elements of the case matched the patterns of similar operations. In short, all named parties that were alleged to be responsible were as guilty as cats at a goldfish bowl. No one was convicted. The whole thing was brushed off a carefully constructed hoax. The ring of truth hangs over this one and it hovers between conspiracy theory and legitimacy only because the government denies it's authenticity.
9/11 and the Iraq war on the other hand, smell dirty but most of us aren't convinced that it was some kind of conspiracy. If you really look at all the facts about 9/11 and our lead up to the Iraq war, you're more likely to find the far more depressing reality of backstabbing and cheap political opportunism.
Bin Laden may have had ties to Bush, but the American system is larger than just Bush and Bin Laden was pissed that we were hampering his drug trading. As a result, Bin Laden pulled some strings, with religion as a pretense, and struck at the US. The result was a "War on Terror" that syphoned resources away from the "War on Drugs" and therefore mission accomplished.
On the Bush side, we wanted to secure foreign oil and establish a military presence in the middle east. Bush took advantage of a national tragedy to push through a war that would accomplish those goals. He had to act fast though, people don't stay frightened for very long.
and that's really all there is to it. Two assholes had two goals and one just happened to compliment the other. It happens more often than anyone cares to admit.
Jimmy,
While I do agree with a good chunk about what you say regarding 9/11, I still do think that much more investigation needs to be done, but since the government flat our refuses to let anyone to do so (unless you're one of their agencies they control).
I think what worries me most is the fact that the government insists on turning its citizens into legalized slaves with the Real ID card and the RFID implant chips. Which by the way, I've been told they've been trying to push this not once, not twice, but FOUR times! Now while some may argue "oh well, it's been defeated 4 times, so what?" well the problem is that these people have been so persistent to continue trying even though they've been told continuously we will not allow it. Eventually they will try to fabricate more lies to make people more comfortable to the idea of having a foreign object in your body that can not only track you, but kill you if you happen to accidentally hit your hand or head hard enough that the glass containing the chip will break, spilling lithium into your body.
Political assassinations.

Buy (lots of) shares of a company that financially supports the governments, that way you have indirect control of the president/goevernment. Best way (perhaps) is too buy shares of a company that supports both presidential candidates.
Or you could always move to an island in the pacific where nobody lives , and wich no government own, or the antarctic. Do not go too the north pole has been claimed already.
You do realize that only Class A Stock has any leverage, right? Good luck getting your $100k investment in low grade stock to move a trillion dollar corporation.
BTW, voting; Great, vote. Just remember that its just a poll on how the people feel. It decides nothing. No President was ever chosen by the public vote. Hello, it's called the electoral college... Democrat/Republican, 2 wings of the same bird. Vote all you want, their flight plan will not change.
Well, in theory the Legislative Branch is supposed to be co-equal in power to the Executive Branch. You *do* vote for them directly and they win by popular vote.
Interestingly, up intil around 1916 (IIRC), you did NOT vote directly for US Senators. They were elected by the Senate of the State that they represented. The idea was that US Senators should not be concerned with popularity polls and the like, but should be focused on doing what was best for the country as a whole. They were less beholden to the people, and this allowed them to focus on the direction of the country, in theory. US Representatives, OTOH, have always been been elected by popular vote.
Frankly, I think the old way was better than what we have now, because it is obvious that the Senate (and Congress in general) doesn't have the nads to stand up to the Executive Branch. This is similar to what happened in Rome, which started out as a Republic but turned into an Empire run by one man. They still had a Senate, but it was a puppet... a rubber stamp for the Emperor, and if it ever tried to get too uppity, the Praetorean Guard would pay them a visit, and straighten things out. That lasted for centuries until Rome fell. I really don't want to see something similar happen to us.
I'm glad that you're having these thoughts which have roots in for example existentialism. I applaud the fact that you're only 18 years old and recognize your limits as well as your potential, many teenagers will reach "adulthood" and never think twice about their role in society or what they really want to acomplish.
I think it's dangerous to become too closely affiliated with one single organization that professes the "truth". The risk of being manipulated and taken advantage of is too high. But hey, there are alternatives. Someone mentioned education which is a good and constructive suggestion. However, I've seen my fair share of completely clueless people at my faculty, campus and in classes. You can become a specialized doctor, you can become a successful lawyer, but you can still go through life without asking any questions about anything and never evolve.
Your recent "awakening" and your dedication makes you a potentially strong asset. Be wary of people taking advantage of that. Read books, but not just any books. Visit websites, but not just the mainstream watchdogs. Contact likeminded people(this may be in conjunction with websites and RL).
Try dedicating a chunk of your life to travelling. I guarantee you nothing opens up the mind as being in direct contact with "alien" cultures and traditions. Work as you travel so you don't end up trying to save up for a journey that never happens.
Always distrust people who start by arguing that their version of whatever is the truth. Move closer to people/organizations who questions the established way of thought, but don't profess to know the whole truth or try to "convert" you.
If you got questions, doubts, need practical information etc. PM me or others that seem willing to acknowledge your need for development.
